Donnie motherfucking Darko man. I've watched this movie a ton of times, and its been one of my favorites for years. It's trippy, it's creepy, the story is excellent, the acting is amazing, it's written very well. Long story short, i love this movie. But i have never watched it high until today. And holy shit. Talk about making an excellent film even more excellent. The whole movie had me tripping. You won't know what I'm talking about until you watch it. Although the plot is very complicated, and may be quite difficult to understand while high, or even sober. Maybe give it a viewing while not high as well. Tldr: smoke a couple bowls, go on Netflix and watch Donnie Darko, thank me later.
Donnie Darko is a movie that's purposefully ambiguous. Jake Gylenhal said that was one of the things he liked - that you could interpret it many ways. Donnie Darko and A Scanner Darkly are tied as my favorite movies.
Good film. Haven't seen it in years. I enjoyed the meta-physics and timeline fuckery in it. Also if you click Hide next to Edit on your posts you can 'delete' them.
I havent seen it in years. And still confused. Sent from my ALCATEL ONE TOUCH Fierce using Grasscity Forum mobile app
whats the plot. I seen it a few times Sent from my ALCATEL ONE TOUCH Fierce using Grasscity Forum mobile app
like someone earlier said, it's purposely vague and left open to interpretation. So there are still things i don't know. Some friends and i spent hours talking about the plot, doing it best to figure it out. With the help of some creative googling, we came to a conclusion we were all happy with. Problem is that it's so fucking meta, complicated, and insane, o would have to spend about half a year writing it out. Sent from my N9810 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
I have a friend who is schizoprenic and he said that this movie might be the closest thing to compare to being psychotic; a sense of not knowing what's real or not, an ongoing dark reoccurring image (like frank the rabbit), things being dark and ambiguous. Pretty neat. Donnie Darko also hears voices, and has visual hallucinations
Yeah that's one thing that's definitely referenced is Donnies schizophrenia Sent from my N9810 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Donnie Darko is fucking amazing, but I have no idea why I love it since every time I watch it, I walk away almost more confused than the previous time I saw it. I also love Michael Andrews' score for it. And the music that plays when Frank shows up in the movie theater and tells Donnie to burn down Jim Cunningham's house..holy fuck do I love that piece of music.
dude i know. That scene where he burns down Cunninghams house is fucking excellent, and the music is excellent throughout the movie. Sent from my N9810 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Loved the film and understood the concept with a little bit of research done on the internet. Sent from my~★☆Continuum Transfunctioner☆★
