whats up guys? i have finally decided to start my own journal, i wanted to make sure everything was in place before takin that next step. Now i'm not very far, but i hope i have haven't done somethin dumb just yet. i have 3 bag seeds in a 6 site 5 gallon tub, rockwool & hydroton. im using tap water. [cause my equipment cost too much already] 4" hurricane inline fan 171cfm with a short run of flexible ducting to the attic. DIYed a bit lol. will take pics of how i have that set up in the morning i also have my phresh 4x12 carbon filter tucked away for now until smell is an issue. i havent been here long, just long enough to basically say screw it cause i'm a hands on learner and read enough from the pros around here. thanks for comin through if you do! any and all feedback is welcome. it will truly be appreciated! heres some pics so far.

  2. Looking good man, I'm subbed in for this

  3. thanks gold glad to see you man, you've helped me understand a ton.
so my cat decided to eat one of them while i was changin the res water.. it was at 3 in the morning, but i felt like i couldnt wait any longer, the water was just dirty and on the verge of smelling, so while i was cleaning out the res she decides to waltz right in my closet and chomp a whole one AND attempt to eat an other one, it was bent down and now has yellowing on its first set.

pretty upset now not sure if i should just start over with good seeds this time.

  4. Shit man, dam cats lol.
So you have dirty water, and yellow leaves? Do you know the cause? That sounds like root rot, but to get it this early is unusual. How much air do you have bubbling through the water? And what is the temperature of the water?

  5. Just one plant can quickly and easily fill a 2'x2' area so I wouldn't worry too much. I have a 4'x4' tent so 4 times your area and only have 1 plant in there and its wall to wall in there

  6. Yeah man I know, she loves to eat any plant bro, even my bamboo lol.

Quick little update, the remaining two have roots branching out and they're getting longer, realized that the one that has yellow spots and was bent by bad kitty has a chewed leaf
So last night I changed res and PhD to 5.8 here's how they look today. What do you think gold?, I'm afraid they are both going to die at this point.

  7. Res temp I don't know from the beginning, but I got that little aqauarium one in there and it reads 79-80 usually, my ppm is relatively low, I think 128 after PhD.

  8. Hey there

You may want to consider covering the lid of the tote with something.

That's pretty warm for water and dwc.

That needs to be fixed asap.

  9. Gotcha, I'll get on it asap, I already picked up some reflective duct tape for my ventilation, pics to follow.

  10. nice thanks sade, was hopin you'd stop by.
heres how ventilation is setup..lol i know its not the cleanest of jobs, but it has worked fine, just glad i have a maintenance port? idk what theyre even called but i just had to lift the board up 2 feet and set it sideways and got 1 ½" white posterboard and cut a outline of the ducting, taped the hell out of it, twined up to lose some vibration, pretty terribly i might add. kinda worried about sound or light goin through the board. [to alert whom idk but anybody.]

also reflective taped the bucket, just the lid [thanks the letter 3] and positioned the two more in the middle now, maybe a dumb ? but. will the condensation from the duct tape over the unused sites screw with the water?

and lastly the two close. you can clearly see where the bite mark is on the last one.

  11. forgot to mention i have the hurricane on a active air speed controller, i sorta regret gettin a 4 inch fan and not a 6 inch one. im having more heat problems than i thought with a space this small. humidity at 31 and temp at 86 right now.

  12. fuck yes bro. was alot of coin but worth it to me, thing is solid, all metal supports are nice.

  13. Yeah i kinda figured this, just thought I'd cross that bridge when I came to it. No idea still. Just hoping that they are not already doomed lol. If they do make it, it would be nice if they both turn out to be girls.

  14. Im along for the grow here bro, it will go good for you. The plants are at that stage where the growth is down below in order for the top to launch.

  15. Thanks a ton snoop, gonna need your advisement! nice to know you have the same Lil bucket.
I replaced the air stone it came with though, it kept floating to the top and messin up bubble distribution haha. Got a flat 5 inch round one now.
