This is a tutorial on how to make a very basic aeroponic cloner that will cost just £11 if you already have all the right tools.

It makes it about as easy as it possibly can be to clone your plants. You just add water, switch on, cut branches, put them in plugs,
put the plugs in the bucket, and wait a week

Here's a video of one running

    Things you need:
    Bucket with lid £2
    Gardener's kneeling mat £1
    Aquarium pump £6
    Mini sprinkler £1
    Connecting hose £1

First off punch out a few plugs from the neoprene kneeling mat. Here I used an adhesive cartridge to cut the foam but you may choose to have a different size and want to use something else. Twisting and pushing the cartridge in to the mat cuts through it very easily. I only used 6 in this bucket but the photo was from when I made a bigger version.

Add a slit running from the edge to just slightly past the middle.

Then you want to measure the plugs and cut the holes in the lid about a mm smaller so you have to squeeze the plugs in and they stay put. That notch is for the pump cord to sit in. I used a proper hole cutter on a drill but if you don't have one a sharp knife, cutting mat, and a very steady hand should do it. A hole cutter is much safer and easier though.

The tube needs to fit the pump and the rotory sprinkler. Cut the length so the sprinkler is about 3" from the top of the bucket. If you find the tube is too flexible its worth slipping a rigid sleeve over the top. I found a barrel of a pen worked well. But any plastic tube of the correct size should do just fine.

I find cutting the clones about 6" long and positioning the cut end about 2" below the plug works well. I use my trimming scissors to cut the stems. There no need for sterilized razors or any of that jazz

I cut my stems straight across, some people cut at an angle but I tried it both ways a few times and it makes no difference.

I add nutes to my water to an EC of 0.35, I find they root in less time and I don't get all the yellowing of the leaves like I did when using empty water.

The cut stems can deplete oxygen levels in the bucket so it's worth opening the lid daily to exchange the air. Or an easier way is to use a small air pump to push fresh air in to the bucket. It doesn't have to have an air stone, or even be in the water, but fresh air is worth introducing, as I find they root faster.

When you have it set up make sure that all the stems are getting wet.

Because there is no root medium or even pots you can introduce these clones in to any system, even soil

I hope this helps a few blades out

Everything can be bought off eBay but the kneeling mat and bucket was bought locally. Everything else was off eBay

I just had a look for the first thing on the list (bucket and lid) and couldn't find a decent price. But any container with a flat lid will work

    2x 6 litre buckets for £4
    http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=161145442141&alt=web

Or round 5 litre bucket for £4.30
    http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=140579261855&alt=web

    Or a black 20 litre for £5.70

You can usually get black round 5 litre buckets for a bit less but that 20 litre one is a good price. I didn't put links up originally because it's a world wide forum and so the links would be useless to most people.

    Here is the other stuff.

Kneeling mat £1.60 but these can be bought from many stores for less, Wilkinson sells them for £1
    http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=281067985133&alt=web

    Aquarium pump £5
    http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=400752161335&alt=web

Here's one in the UK for £5
    http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=261314910306&alt=web

Sprinkler £1. I prefer rotory sprinklers over misters and sprayers because they are far less likely to block
    http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=221419651310&alt=web

The hose needs to match up to the specific pump you have so a link would be hard but the sprinkler in the link needs a 4 or 5mm bore. Here is a metre for £1, it should push inside the outlet on the pump that is linked above

    Hope this helps

  8.
The links I gave added up to £12.60 all online and includes delivery and that is for 2 buckets. Prices change, next week there will probably be cheaper buckets available. Usually you can get 5 litre buckets for £2

  11. I just went to the feed/hardware store for chicken food and looked in the sprinkler section and they had everything at the store to make as many as I wanted.

Very easy build, I like the hell out of that over a plain bubble tub.

  12. Nice Goldie very Nice ...looks just like Rumples

  13.
