Can Smoking Weed Affect Building Muscle?

  1. I am trying to gain muscle. My friend told me in order to get big I shouldn't smoke weed because it increases my metabolism and will burn fat quickly and it's important I don't. Please tell me he's wrong because I wanna get big but I don't want to give up smoking weed.

  5. Do your squats and eat your calories and KEEP YOUR STRESS LOW, and you can smoke as much you want and continue get bigger and stronger. I consider weed to be a supplement. It relieves muscle soreness after workouts, it makes me want to consume more food, and it lowers my stress.

  7. Be sure you're eating sufficient amounts of calories, protein, and other nutrients, whether you're toking or not. Smoking marijuana does cause an acute increase in heart rate, but it's highly unlikely it would have enough effect on your metabolism to negatively affect your training. I wish I had more solid information to give you, but if it caused that profound of an increase in metabolism, people would probably be pushing it as diet supplement :laughing:

  9. I stopped weight training for awhile cuz of injuries. I'm doing calisthenics as of now and I'm still gaining muscle yet I'm at the beginner stage. I don't smoke everyday so I smoke all day and night every weekend though.
     
  10. if you sit on the couch and eat chips drink soda and smoke pot than yeah you have a problem. If you work out and stay active while smoking and keep a good healthy diet than no, no problem. Gaining muscle makes metabolism go up. so like I don't get this guys point. I think he is just a moron.
     
  11. I believe my gains are like 2/1 when I'm high. There is nothing that makes me focus harder than smoking before working out. Also being on a 3500 calorie diet is near impossible without bud because I have gastroparesis. But long story short marijuana won't hurt your workout. Cheeseburgers and pizza will hurt your work out

  13. Yea in moderation.doesnt mean you just worked out better to get a Big Mac meal or a large pizza. Part of your results are in the kitchen. You don't get healthy putting unhealthy shit in your body. Lol your being counterproductive eating shit after busting your ass working out

  14. It all about calories so you can't be eating clean all day long so it can't hurt to have a lil junk. I eat healthy 80-90% and eat junk 10-20% on daily basis. I do full body every other day so I won't have chicken legs like you.
