Decriminalization Vs Legalization

Discussion in 'Marijuana Legalization' started by coltondj, Aug 20, 2014.

  1. Just curious as to what everybody's opinions on this is. I would much prefer to see marijuana become decriminalized instead of legalized, mostly because I would hate to see the government messing up the beautiful herb, spraying it with chemicals and basically selling another form of cigarettes. Let me know what you guys think.

  2. I'm for full legalization. Even if the government did sell some shit sprayed with chemicals (which wouldn't necessarily be the case) I would assume it would also become legal to grow a certain number of plants yourself anyways.

Ohh man. These tin foil hat statements make me shiver. LEGALIZE.

EDIT: Do you think the cartels were growing organic bud for like the last fifty years? You can bet they sprayed their crop with some nasty shit. Whose to inspect john doe stoners indoor grow for safe consumption? Does Mexico or Colombia have a USDA organic labeling system? LEGALIZE.

  4. Is it illegal to grow your own tobacco?

  5. Even decriminalized you are still subject to harassment, and will have your bud confiscated, some cops will ignore the new regs and arrest you anyway.  It depends a lot on the specific state and township or city its still a crapshoot, and even at decriminalized its the users who are supposed to be the beneficiaries of this.

Even so you still have to deal with the black market to get your bud, which means you are ultimately supporting violent criminal elements.   So no you must legalize, and it this point we have are footholds in a few states.  Fighting for legalization in individual states at this time is now pointless.  All it will take is a new president who decides not to respect the state medical/full legalization.

Just recall the medical marijuana raids out in California under Bushes administration. Until you have legalization at the federal level these footholds are unsecure and can easily be taken away.  Think about it like this are you going to march on Berlin without securing the beach heads at Omaha, Gold, Utah, Sword, and Juno Beach heads.  No you will be cut off and you will lose the war, you and myself in the non legalized states must be patient and not push for legalization and instead focus our efforts at the federal level.  And legalization at the federal level would immediately unleash our farms to begin producing industrial hemp.

according to this website it's completely legal

  7. Knowing the difference in organic vs nutrient pumped, flavor altered cannabis... legalize and regulate! We deserve to know what's in our weed!  I'm tired of having to fight for stores in my area, or having to commute, and still being made to feel like a second class citizen because of my decisions. Legalize and keep a focus on boutique type stores.

I have to admit, my friend bought a pack of smokes the other day, and I can't wait to do the same with some js! :D
