How do u blades feel about subtitles? I personally really like em cuz sometimes I can't hear or understand wtf they're saying!! And it seriously pisses me the fuck off like fuckin seriously pissed haha My girl on the other hand fuckin hates em. She calls me def and talks shit but whatever IDGAF!!! Lol
Only if I can't understand what they are saying. Otherwise I find myself reading more than watching the movie. I mean given the choice I think everyone would prefer to watch without subtitles. If subtitles are on I find myself reading more than watching the movie even if I understand whats being said and its seriously distracting to me.
Sometimes they can be distracting but if you watch much international cinema they're par for the course. Something like Akira I always watch with the original dub and subs.
I have had to learn many languages, thru blood and sweat, exercising my lingual abilities is no big deal, here or on screen!
I got so used to watching stuff with subs that it feels incomplete if I watch something without them.
Man, I thought I was the only one. I'm so use to watching subs that its become natural to read and watch without distracting or breaking immersion. In my case it actually helps pick up on many things. It build the tone and character in seeing how they articulate themselves, something I wouldn't pick up on audio alone. As a recent personal example, I feel it added to A Clockwork Orange because of the heavy slang and the way it was presented. It also gave it a bit of a literary feel, I knew it came from the books whereas if it were audio alone I would have missed most of it. I feel it also helps with war movies because of the military talk. Its come to the point where its hard to do without subs.
