Are Indoor Grows Effected By Electronic Light Leaks?

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by Meowlocked, Aug 18, 2014.

  1. Hiya guys,

    Quick question about light leaks.

    Please note: This grow is inside a 3x3 Growtent, which is inside a spare room that currently has blackout curtains to prevent any sunlight from entering the room.

    In regards to light leaks, do they only need to be protected from Sun sources (such as windows); or do they need protection from EVERYTHING, including electronics (Micro Blue Power LED's, TV's, Cable Box LED's, Small Power LED's etc)? Almost at the final stages in preparation for the first grow, so any information would be appreciated.

    Many thanks!

  2. If it's in a tent there should be no light leaks..if there are you can put duct tape over them

    Thank you. But I'm still looking for clarification if the girls are only effected by Sunlight/Sunlight immitatiors light leaks, or if they're effected by everything in the room such as electronics.

  4. Little shit wont hurt a thing. Displays and power indicator lights,clocks, are nothing.

    Light leaks is a term that makes me laugh, a little light wont hurt a thing, just do your best.

    My flower room has the freezer and laundry and I go down and run the overhead lights messing around working and the plants could give a fuck.

    I grow outdoors and the moon is bright enough to navigate without a flashlight.

    Not all plants give a damn, Sativa plants are more sensitive.

  5. The room the tent is in is my current gaming room. Do you think it'll be safe for my ladies with the television on pointed away from the tent? That's primarily what I'm mostly concerned about at the moment. If they're gonna have a fuss I need to consider relocating the TV elsewhere.

    if the tent is closed u got nothing to worry about. The room with my grow tent in it has the light on almost all the time, and there's definitely light leaks in my tent, I can see the light pour out through the intake holes and through little pin holes randomly on the tent. Never had issues.

    The plants will be able to tell the difference between the powerful grow light and some little ambient light that has no actual energy.

    EDIT: also I have a very not light sealed veg cab right next to my flowering tent, and the veg cab runs 24/7 with bright HID lighting pouring out of it never bothers the flowering plants.

    Thanks! The TV is what I was mostly worried about since my grow room is also my gaming room. Appreciate your feedback and any additonal feedback is also highly welcomed in this thread! This community is meowesome! ^^;
