  1. Do any of you GC members go foraging for wild mushrooms? Lately I've been living to the beat of my own drum and I'm loving life more than ever. I'm originally from Nova Scotia, Canada but have been living in northwest B.C for the last 7 years. Last month I packed my backpack and hitch hiked to Saskatchewan. Why? 'Cause that's the beat my drum made! I met some pretty awesome people and had a blast.

So I've decided to go back to the coast of B.C in September and go mushroom picking and take some time off school for now. I love camping and hiking and just being outdoors. Nature is great! To me this adventure will be an extended camping trip and possibly make some cash doing it. And hopefully meet some more cool folks. I'm still not sure on the exact whereabouts I'm going to try foraging. I'd like to go to the Queen Charlotte Islands and join the fellow pickers there, but I've heard the island is just flooded with pickers now because its so popular. I have a cabin on an island closer to the B.C coast and thought of going there to pick. I picked for a weekend there last fall and did pretty good. Found some good gourmet mushrooms and also some magic shrooms as well!

Anyway, do you guys have any experience mushroom picking, or any thoughts or opinions on the whole ordeal? I'd love to hear some feedback from y'all!

Maybe I'll meet someone on here that'll be on the QCI this fall and meet you in person! That'd be pretty sweet.

Well, happy tokin' and happy days to you all! Peace

  2. This is fantastic! You're living a damn dream, man. I'm excited for you, lol

If you feel the urge to come to the U.S. I'm in the Seattle/Tacoma area. I'll definitely buy ya a beer.

  3. B.C is the best man you will love it here! I personally have never gone mushroom picking because I know nothing about mushrooms. Knowing my luck I'd pick a poisonous one haha! I know that my friends dad used to live in his car when he was a teen in Stanley Park, Vancouver and he used to pick mushrooms and sell them. Apparently Psilocybin grows rampant there.

  4. Yeah psilocybin grows on Van and QCI, so I'm assuming it probably grows on other coastal islands as well, unless the spores were spread on just those two islands in particular for some reason or other.. Who knows. I guess I'll find out in my journeys ahead! I take it your from/in B.C.? Amazing province, full of so many wonders!

  5. Wow man thats really cool!  I have wanted to go picking mushrooms for a little while, but dont trust my luck on picking the 'good' type. Tried some magic mushy's before but they were homegrown, and were incredibly strong 1 or 2 of them and you would be on a spaceship to the moon and back. Best way to have them in my opinion is in a omelet with bacon and cheese.

Sometime in the start of next year I will probably go for a drive a few hours south by myself on the hunt for delicious buds, fun skateparks, good waves and maybe some wild psilocybin mushrooms to mix it up. Good luck on your journey and welcome to GC, hope you stay around and keep me/us updated.
