Outdoor Bag-Seed (Lst) Learning As I Grow

  1. Hi I am Sweede,

Thank you very much for stopping by.

A little about myself, i have been smoking bud for 6 years now, 25, work in design and love photography.

I would like to have a constant supply or a perpetual grow at some point, but for now i will just be growing a few plants in my garden to cut down the price of picking up.

This is my second attempt at growing, the first was cut short due to moving house, but this one has been going for about 2 and a half months now, still in veg stage.

    - growing in soil
    - growing cheap
    - after a month LST began
    - used two different nutes (Switch due to advice from a friend who grows, you may know him as 'Headchef 1990' (http://forum.grasscity.com/user/739585-headchef1990/))

Images to follow, once i figure out how to upload properly.

Will add a photo now to show where we're at now. (image below).

  2. So to start i have been told that crushed up egg shells in the soil can be good for the plant so that were i started.
    IMG_6303.jpg
Mixed up a few different mixes some including the crushed egg shell and some not, one of the light pink pot has eggshell the other does not.
    IMG_6304.jpg
So they started in smaller pots (bottom half of 2 pint milk cartons) in the house then got re-potted to these larger pots for outdoor growing.
    IMG_6327.jpg

  3. They started small.
    IMG_6321.jpg

I have put small pebbles at the bottom of the tubs - between an inch or two deep, the black tub has four 7mm diameter holes in the bottom, and the light pink pot have two holes which are about an inch or so above the bottom of the pot 10mm diameter. im sure one of these will be better for the plants, im guessing the one with holes above the bottom to provide a sort of water store at the bottom of the pot.

I should will be able to tell the difference between the pots by seeing if there are eggshells in the soil and therefore see if it was worth putting them in.

  4. Hey Sweede, nice plant you got there. Do you plan on keeping them small or are you going to transplant at some point?

  5. and just over a month later using no nutrients this is what the girls looked like.

I should note that the soil is multi purpose compost.

  6. One month in - LST (Low Stress Training) began.

On the advice of 'Headchef 1990', i know i should have done this sooner, but not to worry, they seem to be doing well.

  7. A month and four days in.

The one in the black pot with no reserve of water seems to be growing slower, and i have decided to wait too tie her down for a few days.

  8. plants recovering well from being tied down.

  9. one month 13 days in.

showing signs that more nutrients are needed.

    IMG_7747.jpg

  10. I was using these nutrients for a couple of weeks, but they seemed to be too strong in some levels and too weak in other places

    IMG_7552.jpg

it got to the point where the fan leaves all shrivelled up and fell off, this in some ways was good because i didn't want a massive bunch of plants. this cant be good though.

Wondering if it is due to nutrient deficiency.

  11. 2 months in,

so i continued to use those nutes, and kept tying the plants down.

'Headchef 1990' said they are not showing sex yet/one of them could be male.

  14. The next images show that the nutrients i was using really were not doing the job properly,

From this point on i will be using Oldtimers nutrients and none of the Seaweed organic stuff.

  16. This is the plants a week after giving them 2ml per litre of the Oldtimers Grow nutrients.

as you can see there did not improve too much….

  17. On the advice of 'Headchef 1990' he mentioned due to the previous nutrients i was giving the plants there could have been too much of one kind of element, which may have caused the plant to block off its ability to take in the coronets nutrients.

He said i should flush the plants out with water, he advised to give them 3 times the volume of the plants container size to flush the soil and then be able to start afresh with the new Oldtimers nutrients, so that what i did for each plant.

    volume of water was approximate.

  18. So it turned out that one of the plants was a male.

Photos below show the male before it was destroyed.

the large plants are 3 months a week old at this point.
