Seedling Problems In Coco

Discussion in 'Coco Coir' started by FunkyTangles, Aug 15, 2014.

  1. Hello all, these seedling are 3 weeks old now. The really small seedling is a feminized Money Maker, the slightly bigger one is a Royal Queen Critical and the two big ones are skunk haze.

Im growing in organagro coco using tap water ph 7 ppm 200.  using ph down the tap water goes in at 5.3 and drains out at 6.0.  Im using 200 ppm of cana a+b vega for nutes.  grand total ppm is 400ppm (tap+nutes) i water every other day until i get drainage out of the bottom.

This is my first grow I would much appreciate feedback on the plants and any advice, tips, scolding are much appreciated.
    Thanks IMG_0588.jpg IMG_7108.jpg IMG_1777.jpg IMG_5438.jpg IMG_3332.jpg IMG_7393.jpg

  2. Are you using any type of calmag? You'll probably need some.

  3. PH in is to low man. Aim for 5.7-5.9 for coco

  4. great advice above... 5.8 ph and add a little calmag.

I personally use the 6/9 GH formula(h3ad formula) in pure coco and I'd be giving at least 50% nutes at this point.(with my particular formula)

I could be completely wrong, but I think you started feeding too soon. I stunted my Climax and Blue Mammoth because I fed too early even though it was at a low ppm. My current plants are doing a hundred times better and I didn't start feeding until the 3-3.5 week mark. Hope they hit a growth spurt man!

  6. Hi funky tangle. Have you tried feeding more often? I saw that you mentioned you fed every other day. Try keeping this girls wet. Achieve 20%+runoff daily and you should see your matter improve. Rule of thumb using coco coir...you want same ppm/pH going in as coming out. So make sure your ph/ppm meter/pen is callobrated and check your runoff at every feeding.

  7. Maybe flush the stunted plant. It may snap out. The rest look normal. Try not to overwater tho
I start my seeds in root riot cubes then transplant later into cups
