  1. The girls have gotten to be about a month old now, running a 600 watt HPS, got a fan blowing at all times.
Cheap big box 'organic' soil. Just had a wrestling match with pH but the girls have stopped curling up so i think I'm over it now... Tell me what you think?

They are about a foot tall and one they get back into shape from their pH flush, I plan on throwing em into flowering... Planning on a 2-3 ft plant at harvest. Any suggestions?

    Happy Growing! :bongin:

  2. Pretty good man. Yeah pH can be a bitch sometimes! Looking decent for a month.

Thanks bub! It's been a few days since the flush, per your advice. And the leaves look pretty bad, but i believe i saved them, the wilting looked like a nitrogen toxicity, i believe my friend is nute crazy, and hurt my plants. For the past few weeks I've been supplementing watering a with epsom salt for the magnesium and sulfur content, and it seems to help with those specific symptoms... I dont really use nutrients, they seem to cause more trouble than good for me... Does this seen like it would be a realistic scenario? The small bit of growth that has happened since the flush seems to be nice and green, and not so wilted like the other young leaves, though they've grown slow because of the stress from the flush? ( Always appreciate your advice, Canadian, you seem you know your stuff pretty well!)

  4. I hope you saved em because the main stem sure looks stocky. I had a crazy neem oil incident outdoors in April that stunted mine for a week or longer then when they came out of it they forked at ground level. Making the plant look like two instead of one. So now I have these giant bushy Cheese plants. It turned into a blessing in disguise. Now if I could figure out how to do that next year without the neem would be awesome. Lol. I experimented with high stress training on a cpl OG kush and got similar results. Good luck with those gals man. Hate to see any plants die or go to waste.

  5. No problem, man. :)
Is this supposed to be an actual organic soil [ with ammendments and whatnot] or is it one of those ones that claim to be organic since they don't have any time release fertilizers in it? Because if it is filled eith ammendments that definately seems like a possible scenario.
And yeah they'll grow a little slow what with all the stress [flush and over fertilizing] but give them a week or two from when you flushed and they should be bouncing back.

  6. It's probably full of crap. It 'feeds for up to two months' but they were doing pretty good till my friend got ahold of em when he house sat... His experience was feeding every other day, and watering daily with 1 large cfl on two plants, under a sheet... I watch them carefully observing, and learning, but i guess he just had luck a different way but his methods didn't sit well with my girls... Luckily that ugly one was a male, because the two girls were way less damaged. Also have gnats or something flying around.. Larger than thirps. Probably from the watering and then the flush. I used insecticidal soap on the foliage and run a fan, so they dont seem to sit long, and im gonna let that soil dry and aerate a whileee before watering again... Whats your experience..?

  7. I believe that its just my fan, i have a box fan sitting four feet away on one, i try to keep them swaying under a half inch, but that probably attributes to my thick stems, for thick buds, if they turn around for me!

  8. They should. It's a pretty resilient plant. Just get the insects in check from the flush and keep trucking. P.s. Keep your friend away from them. Lol. Bout did you in.

  9. Hmm..either way with the flush you probably washed out whatever nutrients were left in the soil, so yeah let her dry out real nice. Like when you think its time to water give it an extra day. This will not only give it some nice oxygen, it allows the roots to grow while they search for water and as well will hopefully kill any eggs just incase the gnats laid any.

  10. Always can rely on these forums for the best advice. Thanks guys. Will continue to keep everyone posted! Aha

  11. The leaves that were injured in this catastrophe, they wont heal will they? Its just new growth that doesnt turn brown right? Like leaves that got hurt, wont recuperate?

  12. That's right. The discolored will remain that way and your green will come from new growth.

  13. Yep, and also leaves that get crinkled looking but are still green, those are the same right? If it helps it looks like nitrogen toxicity

  14.
Bend them over and tie them down for a bigger yield. Works as well or better than topping.

  15. The crinkled ones that aren't burnt should smooth out. As long as there isn't any discoloration or scorching on them. Also he's right about bending them over and tying them down. It makes the other nodes think they are the main flower. Watch some videos on low stresstraining. It really does work.

  16. Hmm, I'm down to try anything but is LST at all dangerous to my stressed out plants? And should i tie them down when i begin flower, or tie down the tops as they grow in veg.?

  17. It's not dangerous. There are two methods of training. One is high stress training where you actually break the plant. I've done that this yr and it's looking like im gonna do better than last yr for sure. The other is low stress training where you slightly bend the plant over from the top before it flowers because it will result in more flowering nodes. You can benefit more from trying to find a video of the process with a plant similar looking to the ones you have. That will give you a better idea than i can explain to you. Growing ganja is always a learning curve and that's what I love about it. Don't try anything if your unsure of it. But you can find many videos just by searching Low stress training. Just food for thought bro.

I just cant get over how aweful the leaves look. Anythig i can do to help em once they get over the flush..? I mean theres gotta be more to it right??? Or did they just get over nuted by my house sitter... I dont wanna believe its at all my fault but its a learning experience either way... :/

  19. Like what causes that kind of browning and the leaves to roll up like that?

  20. That's just a simple nitrogen toxicity. It causes all those symptoms. After the flush let it dry out and start her on her regimen of nutes again but only half of what you used before. Ease them back into the nutes is what I'm getting at. They may look bad but trust me in time they will bounce back. Be patient because it may take a week or longer. Growing it isn't as quick as goin to the weed man!! Lol, but it's much better in the end than goin to someone else. I'll find the symptom chart someone sent me and repost it for ya. It may look grim at the moment but I've had plants with worse probs that are monsters now.
