Growing Marijuna

you wanna get em into the pots your gonna keep em in sooner rather than later......a pretty relative way to pic container size is 1 gallon per 1sq foot... and keep into consideration a healthy plant can easily double in height and width during flowering..
 
i run 5 gallon buckets, but alot of people hate on them because it's hard to make them drain properly... i've found about 20 percent perlite in your soil mix, and bottom of the bucket like a salt shaker, make holes with a big screw driver works well...
 
 
this about as big as you can go in a 5 gallon bucket... i like to plant 3 plants per bucket in the beginning (also frowned upon, but a necessity if you have to grow in secret, illegal) if your growing photos, and non sexxed, it works out will because you'll usually have equal amount of males to females.... and then sickness/critters might possibly take out another.... i ended up with 2 females this year in one bucket, but they are at polar opposite sides in the bucket, so i think they'll be ok (both big and healthy right now, 2 weeks into flowering) in an ideal situation i'd never plant more than one plant per container... but.... it's guerilla, what can ya do.. better to overshoot the number of plants then undershoot it...easier to rip out males, and suffer a slight stunt in growth, then have no harvest..
 
if your in N America, everything outside and mature will start flowering by August... so you have from spring (March-August) to veg, and then August - mid november to flower) (unless you veg perpetually under lights inside, and just put plants outside to flower).....then you can flower from march - november (multiple harvests)
 
these were from seed, went into pots early June,

i like to give my first feeding about 4 weeks, start small, all plants are different, some are thirsty, some need very little extra love.....
 
use about a half of what you've figured will be a "normal feeding."
 
see how it reacts... then go stronger..... i like to feed about every 3 watering, and in the heat of the summer i water about every 72 hours..
 
once you get the feel of how much/little to feed, you can really dial it in, a little burn is OK..... but you run the risk of lockout if you push it past JUST A LITTLE.... max growth happens at JUST A LITTLE though...makes the difference between a wimpy scraggly plant and a strong bush (which makes all the world of difference when it comes to yield
 
when it comes flower time, make sure you amend your nutes to match accordingly.... high N for veg, low P, low K..... no N, high P, high/mid K for flower....... and make sure you give your last nutes about 2 weeks before you think it SHOULD be finishing up (about 8 weeks for the vast majority of strains...could be as early as 6 (fast flowering strains that finish in 8-9 weeks) or as late as 10-11 weeks for long sativas) then ONLY water for the last two weeks.......
 
also, NO water for the last week, if possible, can cut drying time in half sometimes.... 

 

Little bit late in the season to be expecting a good yield from her, but you'll get some good experience and know what to do better next year...
