Here's my take on it: everything that is true can be proved by using the scientific method. Thats a fact. But, the existence of a god or gods can not be proved using the scientific method. So i choose to not believe in a greater being. I don't know if there is or isn't a god, just like the rest of us, so at times of great distress i have prayed. But overall i think its all bullshit. I think the belief in god acts as a substitute for knowledge and wisdom. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Yes and no. There's no proving anything. Even proof is not an accurate description of what is real. What is real is beyond the subjective experience and the description of any experience. What is real is not real to us personally until we comprehend it through the conceptual. Or they all are real.
Proof? I have no proof whether IT does or doesn't exist. However, to believe in a god or gods is equivalent to believing in Aliens seeding the planet with various DNA's. Actually aliens seems more likely to me. Where is this god that made his appearances centuries ago? Why only way back then did supposedly he send his prophets to humanity? Why not now when religions are fading and being perverted by man? If you were a god wouldn't you want your presence known NOW when mankind is more educated and enlightened? Seems silly to me. I'll stick with being Agnostic. Maybe IT does exist maybe not but at least I have my bases covered. If one day upon my death I am confronted with a God or heaven and asked why I didn't believe I will ask "why didn't you let your existence known to modern humankind?" How could it possibly answer that question without cracking a smile?
We used to chill, and for proof, I took some mirror selfies with him once. We haven't chilled in a while though. He went off to some pretentious college
It would be great if all us religious folks could at least agree that hey, we don't actually know. No matter what you believe, we just don't know. Isn't that great? We're left in suspense, we choose to believe. We have the power of belief...we can actively choose to believe and how important this gift is.
Exactly. One coin has two sides. Whether they are both real or fake is irrelevant. But surely one cannot be real, while the other is fake.
I think so, but I am not sure. When people die and are brought back they all experience something like a dream, where they are on an island or at a party. Most decide to leave or are told they have no choice by those there. Is this the last act of the mind? How can that be when the heart or lung function has stopped? Is it the mind's way of portraying to you that it is shutting down? Or has one really died and reached some in-between world where you can either go left or right, towards life or afterlife?
It can also be said that nothing conceptual can be real in an ultimate sense. All concepts are derived directly from a relative experience. Concepts, their very nature, imply and require the duality of the inner and outer worlds. The point a to point b. What is there if we don't maje any points on the grid?
Everything is the grid. We galavant around from point to point, straying farther and farther away from the grid, trying to define it because we just haven't found an answer to satisfy our selves yet. We're like ants in a way, so ambitious.
