For my situation I believe I can always say yes to, I just can't understand why the people who raised us can't seem to except something harmless and blissful into our systems. What do you think?

They dont. Most fear a loss of control. They wiped your ass and taught you how to walk and talk. Letting you be a person is hard after they did most of your thinking for you most of your life. The older people get the more they hate change too. Plus nobody really likes teenagers or really young people. Theyre confused messes who think they know it all when really they dont know shit. So if they get a chance to make you feel like an inferior moron, they jump at that chance and take it waaaay too far most of the time, Love....hehe
It's pretty simple why most parents don't like it. They don't like the thought of their kid consuming drugs and getting high. it is illegal in most places and they don't want their kids breaking the law. It's unhealthy to smoke it. (yes it is not good for your lungs) and also they know from experience that you can easily get mixed up with the wrong people when you get into buying that illegally as a kid. All these reasons are pretty legit so yeah that's why they don't like it.
Because for most adults (40+) I talk to it's illegal and somewhat unhealthy, and especially that it decreases motivation. They all know some 40 year old stoner who has no job and sits around smoking all day. Which I must admit is true for some people. They just can't handle even weed or cigs because of their personality
When I was living at home my parents didn't like me smoking simply because of the fact that it was a legal issue. She knows it's a lot safer than alcohol but because of the legal issues it was a no go. She didn't like me using in the house so I was forced to go outside/to someone else's house. Some parents don't like it because they really do think it's a 'hard drug'. I'm sure we've all seen those ate-up brain dead stoners in their 40's... "Liiiiiike yeaaaah maaaan". No education, no financial stability, smokes weed all day, barely getting by. But I like to assume people like that did other drugs to get fucked up, I don't believe MJ can ruin a life, unless you really let it. It's weed not meth. I love to smoke weed as much as the next guy but you know when you're smoking too much or you're high too much.
I think if you were a parent you would hate the idea of marijuana too, think about it .... Theres a difference between using it to get a high and using it for medicine.
Well I will be 41 on the 18th and I have two kids that smoke and so do I. My youngest smokes with my permission do to the fact that she has some mental problem like anxiety and so other things. I first caught her when she was fourteen and and made her stop we had her in to mental docs and all they did was give her pills that zoned her out real bad and after a year I missed my happy little girl. We had a long talk about school grades and other situations I accidentally dropped about three grams of sour diesel and a old spoon I never use. Now my son is twenty and is a lazy brat he has even started seeing this girl by the name of Molly he is getting ready to be kicked out soon and he knows this cause he needs to find a job. It is hard as parents cause my first time high was in Amsterdam was when I 12 my brother took me but told me I was not allowed to smoke as I never had. While he was making a deal I ate all these yummy brownies I was so fucked up he had to carry me. So we try to raise our kids in a fair and non judgmental environment.
some parents dont like pot because once a person starts smoking they might settle with the life they have instead of pursuing more for themselves i.e not becoming a productive member of the community like going to college
There's science coming out suggesting habitual use before full brain development (25) is long term detrimental. The same can be said for many substances, from booze to prescription SSRI's. I would be fine with any kids I might have getting high at a party, but not with them smoking everyday at 4:20. They should have other shit they need to be doing (homework, sports, odd jobs, etc), and an occasional smoker won't have the tolerance to blaze and then function normally...
1. It's kind of unexplored territory for some parents, and they might think it's dangerous not knowing its effects. 2. They want their kid to do good at life. 3. The image that the government/propaganda/churches pushed onto marijuana.
What are your "guises" opinions on teenage cannabis use? I don't know how ill approach this subject when I have kids. I wish I knew whether or not it actually harms the brain, or to what extent
I'm a parent and i don't care if my kids smoke after they turn 16 so long as they keep up on grades/chores/work ect.
