I've been diagnosed with Crohn's Disease for about 6 years now currently living in Connecticut. I've also been a consistent marijuana smoker over the years. Maryjane puts me completely in remission, and I've tested this out multiple times by taking a break. My stomach will start acting up awfully when I stop smoking, and signs and symptoms include persistent cramps, diarrhea, blood in the stool, sharp pain in the abdomen, no appetite, and the list goes on and on.

Right now I'm in between jobs and have to pass a drug test unfortunately, but it's taking longer then expected. My Crohn's is really acting up, and I know for a fact I can go out and score some maryjane and it'll help, but then my chances of passing the test are slim to none and I'll just end up embarrassing myself. I've decided to go out and finally try to get a MMJ card.

My previous GI refused to believe Marijuana is an effective treatment. I told him I would never come back because I didn't need him (at this time I could get MJ whenever I wanted and already had a job), and always tried to prescribe me drugs that are expensive and never do any good. Friday I'm going to a new GI..

What do I need to do??? I have medical records proving I have crohn's disease that will be sent over to the new doctor on Friday. I don't want to buy weed illegally anymore and worry about being a criminal. I just want to be able to smoke at night after work and keep myself healthy. Help???

  3. Hey, I'm not sure on the details of getting your marijuana card. I'm not American, but I think the regulations are different in each med state. Pretty sure there's a post that says all about the different rules in the different places.

Sounds like a really crappy predicament to be in! The doctor at one point thought I had crohn's disease, so I know all about it. Sending good vibes your way.

  4. Hello, a fellow crohns patient here. I don't have my med card but I hope to have one in the future when I'm done with college and everything. I'm not sure how they do it in CT. but in Colorado you just go to a doctor that is liscened to prescribe medical Mj and based on your ailments he determines if you are eligible or not. No GI necessary in this case but not sure about CT. I don't live in either state but that is my understanding

  5. The thing is the doctor that can prescribe me marijuana is going to need some sort of medical records from the GI, and I have to go to the new GI anyway so I guess why not ask him about it.

    Thanks bro :)

  6. Yeah well I don't think your GI can refuse to release your own medical records to you, regardless of his beliefs about MMJ. In my opinon you and me both are more than over qualified for a card. There are plenty of people with ailments of less severity than Crohns getting their cards. I think you should be good to go and good luck!

Thanks man! I know what you mean by that though people get MMJ for anxiety and depression ffs! I actually really like these forums and have been lurking for years lol. I'll update as soon as possible when I find out. I'm not one of those guys that makes an account and then he's gone ;)

  8. Will update tomorrow when I go to the GI ;)

  9. Update. Well my doctor is going to refer me to the department of consumer protection with a recommendation for medical cannabis. He wants me to wait about a month for the dispensaries to open up though.
