I have two plants, one in coco and one in dwc, they are on day 7 of flower. I noticed these spots developing on the plant that is in coco about 7-10 days ago and now I see them also on my dwc plant(seems to be spreading) I have looked in books and checked the web and cannot find this specific problem. I an using GH flora nutes, per drain to waste easy instructions. Here are some pics. Any remedies you can recommend would be tremendous!?!? Thank you!! Deez get degrees
Once your ph drifts above 5.8 in Coco or hydro you'll be slipping in Ca ... which appears to be what your girls are expressing. Also, when your ph slips to 5.7 in hydro (and coco) you'll be on the low end of a Mg lock-out. Your light isn't hitting the lower canopy, what kind is it?
That depends almost entirely on your cooling setup. My vented hoods allow me to get my plants 6 inches from the canopy using a 600w hps.
My osc fan blows right at the top of my canopy, I could probably lower it a few more inches. Also use a 6 inch inline fan for exhaust when the light is on, it really helps to keep the temps down.
You should be able to get the light as close as 8 inches or maybe as close as pokesmot247 suggested, start by going eight and hold your hand on top pf the canopy and see if it becomes uncomfortable for you. if so, it will be for the plants also, if no, lower it to six and monitor.
Yeah it does definitely. I raised a plant last night that was 12 inches away to about 4 inches and the growth is already noticeable.
It's prolly it, also the foliage is king of rough, dryish feeling. I bought a cal/mag supplement today and am going to use it tonight when they wake up..
It's always important to use CalMag in Coco or Hydro. http://boards.cannabis.com/attachments/plant-problems/281235d1325194867-brown-spots-some-twisted-leaves-some-tips-curled-down-phchart.jpg
I change out my res today and added Cal mag to the feeding regiment, and it was also feeding day for Coco; so I hit that one with the calmag too,, since I do not have a digital pH meter, I got the color as close to a yellow orange as I could.. Thanks for all the help!!! Deez get degrees
Before lights went out this a.m. I checked the plants and could tell the foliage was already noticeably softer! Deez get degrees
Good, they'll do better now, and monitor ph best you can ... you'll notice, if you get around the forum, many will advocate ph fluxuation; listen, logic dictates to my mind that a bit of drift is okay, especially with the method you're using, but not high and low swings, it causes issues, get my drift?
Turns out it was the start of a mire infestation. My plants seemed to continue growing, but noticed the problem was coming up the plant, sure enough,, the bottom 1/3 of the foliage was way worse then the rest of the plant and the bottom of the leaves were covered With tiny black specs,,,busted some neem oil on their punksses tonight! (I still had a calmag def, I wander to think how bad my ladies would be had I not treated that earlier)
