Starting My Tattoo In About An Hour

  1. going to get all of the line work done today. the artist was saying maybe 5 or 6 hours this afternoon and then every 3 or 4 weeks after i heal to start the shading. i am getting an octopus on my lower right back and a mermaid on my upper left. adding coral, leafy sea dragons, cuttle fish, lion fish and anemone, star fish, etc. on the coral itself. i am also going to have a little sea snail puffing on a bog ol' bong. it will be kind of incognito. i will post pics when i get home. wish me luck!! :metal:

PS.. i had made another post about this just a little bit ago and couldn't find it. sorry if i am breaking rules or anything!

  5. Damn sounds awesome lol post pics dude!

  6. holy fucking shit.....that hurt. 4 hours of line work. i have the line work on the octopus done {most of it}, the line work on the sea turtle done {most of it}. the part that was hurting the most was when the sea turtle and the octopus curl around my side a bit and near my ribs. it is going to take 4 more sessions of about 4 hours each to get all of the line work done. he was saying that the lines are important in the way that when the color gets filled in it will over lap the lines and give the illusion of lines when there aren't any.  i am going to go in the 2nd of every month for the next year to year and a half to finish it.

i don't recommend starting your first tattoo this way....
when the tattoo heals a bit i might post pics of where it is at so far. it doesn't look super amazing or anything just yet so i might save all of the pics until the line work is completed. that way you all see the vision of where it is going. i have to say that it felt good knowing i was able to handle the pain like i did. it never even dawned on me that i might not be able to handle it lol!!! wouldn't that be funny, running around with a half assed tatt because i couldn't handle the pain....

  7. Man that tattoo sounds groovy will you post pictures of it once it's completed?

  8. yup :metal:

  10. Pics when you can bro :)

  11. yup.
a mermaid on my upper left shoulder. an octopus on my lower right back {above my right butt cheek}. sea turtle below the mermaid. school of cuttle fish or a few leafy sea dragons above the octopus. then coral going from my upper right back at an angle to my lower left back, with anemone's, starfish and a few other small creatures all over. i am getting a little sea snail on my lower left back smoking a bong and blowing bubbles.

it is going to be fully colored and will start darker on the bottom of my back and get lighter as you get to the top of my back. i am also thinking of having the mermaid breaking the surface. i cant wait until the line work is done.

  12. so, 4 more hours of line work. i am a little more then 1/2 way there.

i have a sea turtle, an octopus, a school of cuttle fish and some of the coral lined out. as crazy as it sounds, it didn't hurt nearly as bad this time and it healed waaaaay better, waaaaay faster. i read that some times people go into shock during their first tattoo and i guess i am one of them.

been using A&D ointment on my back and it really has made all the difference in the world. i didn't really have anything for the first 2 days after the first session. i found having my wife get her hands a little wet first before using the A&D made it easy to apply.

i am ready for more!!! :metal:
