Day 2! time for some soil!

Posted Image

I basicaly followed this guide word for word:
http://forum.grassci...tion-420-a.html

Here is what i'm using to get these babys started, gonna flower them early to try and find my new "mom"
Posted Image

Following the guide! fill with water and let drain! (I let em sit for 10 min in the sink)
Posted Image

And here's the transfer, I tryed to get the root down, didn't always turn out perfect, but i bet these baby's will be ok
Posted Image

FYI this was all done at roughly 68-71 degrees F, which is ambiant temp for me. the redline in A shows how deep i went on a typical ball point pen (about 1/2 inch) and ofcourse B shows the seed sitting in the hole,, not quite root down *shrug*

Thats a big no no man. You shouldnt have started growing expensive seeds from a seedbank if you havent done any research yet. Miracle grow potting soil is one of the biggest cardinal sins, any pre nuted soil for that matter. You have a few days before they pop up so get your room set up ASAP. You need to read through every sticky in every growing forum as fast as you can, and when your done, read them again.

On a more positive note though...nice camera work!

actualy, i'm only using it to get these babys sprouted while i wait on my hydro stuff to show up. once they get ready to transfer to my 8" pots they will go into zero nute dirt..

Trust me i've been reading for weeks now, i'm not going to burn these babys by doing any crazy light cycles while they are germinating, just trying to get those first real leaves to show so i can transfer.

(the germination happend a little quicker than i thought it would. i thought i had this weekend to setup, so i'm kinda working with what i have on hand.. going shopping tomrrow and setting up the clone room!)

edit: and i've got 15 more seeds incase i Fuck this round up.. heh

What the hell does light cycles have to do with burning plants????

Your growing in miricle grow, thats the point, if they dont die they will be stunted. right now the only thing you have going for you is that at some point in their misserable existance in that soil they will come out. HOpefully its very very very soon.

HOpefully its very very very soon.

(I thought forced lighting cycles got time released nutes to release early, causing burn)

Hmm, for some reason i thought it would be ok for sprouting,, welp, they should be fine if they are only in it for 12 hours or so, i'll pick some clean soil tomrrow (morning!) along with my building supplies

I'm just looking for a cloner, so stunted is good!?

thanks for the advice, i'll get those guys out asap!

yeah, its really barky. its organic soil. no addatives. I didnt bury the seeds very deep due to the chunky soil.

I dont understand why this stuff is so hard to grow, these are freaking weeds! (literaly, I've seen them growing in ditches and shit in nebraska, in beleze i see them growing everywhere, and they have crappy sandy soil)

I added a splash of water to the top this morning, they felt a little dry (the humidity of my house is pretty low)

Wal-Mart.......Gen. Purpose soil is Crapoola' within I have found .....Drywall,plastic garbage bag pieces,Railroad ties(Smelled of creosote), shredded plastic pieces (clear) to name a few.....I went to a clients house to see his 6 month old plants under a 1000 MH in this soil .......I was expecting to see some lil' trees.....some were only 6" tall some were a foot......we pulled them out of the nasty crap and put them in a mix of 25% Perlite 25%Vermiculite some Castings some peat and some Compost .....when we pulled them out of that crap the biggest root ball was the size of a baseball.....20 some days later we went to flower some of them were 3 feet tall and looked like bushes......they turned out to be "Blueberry".....and he almost killed them with that dirt

Goto the Depot and get a small 200Gallon per hour pump or whatever is smallest.

Get 3-5gallon bucket.

1/2 PVC pole(or depending on what size the your pump requires. mine was 1/2 in)

some pvc T's

some pvc 90degree elbows

a small piece of vinyl tubing

and some neoprene pipe insulation

and some Misters

Vioula(sp?) you got a wanna be AeroCloner

this is exactly what i plan on building, just wiating for my 3" baskets to get here (or 2.5", dont rember what i ordered) honestly the dirt is just to get these fuckers out of germination mode, i left one in the mirical grow soil and 5 in the walmart crap soil.. I just want to see that first leaf set so I can move them to a mist set up

i'm building the mother room/ Clone room today, I think i'll go with a wide short rubbermade for my mistercloner & run strait water while i'm cloning.. taking some measurements now and planning my next lowe's trip

I've obviously failed twice at buying soil, are there any easily gotten brands that are good? anyone heard of that black gold stuff?

BTW, these will eventualy be grown in 5gal bucket bubblers ( 1 plant per bucket) this is NOT a soil grow.

I think Shultz has some good unferted soil(i remember looking around the DePot

for good soil). Also check in your phonebook man, you never know, you might have

a Hydro shop nestled in somewhere.

yeah def think about what your gonna do first and what you need.

I always end up just goin and trying to figure out what i need while I'm there and always end up forgettin stuff. . .

That Cloner i build cost a whopping under $30. Woulda been less but the EcoPlus

185 for $9.99 was sold out at the Dro store. Had to get the 265 for $20.
