Wheres The Iphone Vets And Hackers At?

  1. Ok so this is my first smart device that will hopefully work.  I have a touch that I got from my aunt when she went downhill, it never could hookup to itunes, even with all the updates an shit.  I tried restoring it and it's now just giving me the connect screen.  I've given up on that thing.
The subject of the matter is an iphone I just got from work.  I do security so I handle the lost and found.  After the 4th of july we had a ton of crap (I work at a beach resort)  including a few phones and cameras and stuff.  Well I've never had a smart phone, the ipod with limited music pooped out so now I need some mobile music some other way.  I figured one of those lost phones would come in handy.
And just fyi, due to apples theft policies or whatever, I DID NOT STEAL THIS PHONE.  I tried every which way to get some info from it to return it to it's rightful owner.  Nothing we could do but watch it sit there for a month.  The cellular service was turned off on it like 3 days after the 4th, so the dude has given up hope (poor bastard left his backpack with clothes, climbing gear, two pairs of nikes, fifth of fireball whiskey and other crapola, never called my work though, so fair game in my eyes)
Ok, so i've done the restore recovery to get past the passcode, but now it wants his itunes account info.  How the hell do I get around that?  And seriously I would pay him for it or just return it if I new his info.
I return a few phones every week, that's part of my job.  Any help would be mucho appreciato  :smoke:

  2. Just try to sell it and put the money towards a proper phone.

I wouldn't have an iphone even if it did cost me nothing.

  3. Maybe you can jailbreak it?

  4. No bypass for that as of right now. I'm into jailbreaking and moderate a large jailbreak iOS forum and have for years. No way you will be able to get past it. Could just he a nice guy and email that email saying hey I have your phone bro. It won't be any use to you.

  5. I would email him if I had his full email.  Apple only gives you the first letter and provider in the address, the rest of the characters are just atericks.  I might take it to verizon to see if they can get it back to him.  Otherwise this brick is going back in the lost and found.
Really wish Doulci was operational still.  Seems like the only method.

  6. I just purchased an iphone from craigslist. The guy I bought it from told me it was unlocked to all carriers, it's not. The phone service says t mobile. But when I went to go sign up for tmobile they told me to get it unlocked. How could I go about unlocking it? maybe link me somewhere if you could? I've looked around the web for hours.

  7. There's lots of sites online that sell unlocks for phones for cheap. It's possible the device is flagged as stolen which is really common when buying from Craigslist. If you got it a lot cheaper than most prices on there it most likely is stolen and t-mobile just didn't realize it and said it just wasn't unlocked. Amateurs usually work at those stores and probably didn't bother to look up the IMEI.

Using this will check if it's blocked.

  8. I don't think it's blocked. All it says is ESN is for valid Apple product.
This is a valid serial number for an Apple product.
iPhone 5. And tells me prices down below.

Could you tell me of a site to cheaply unlock it at?

Did you try putting it in though?

Your best bet is to call t-mobile and ask if they can unlock it. I have a feeling it is for some reason locked to their network. Weird though because when you buy a device from t-mobile they are suppose to be unlocked. So your situation sounds a bit odd to me. Whatever carrier its locked to will unlock it. It can only be ATT or T-mobile. Take a look at this link: http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/articles/comments/determining-which-carrier-an-iphone-is-locked-to/

Im still looking for a dcent unlocking service. ChronicUnlocks is legit but expensive.

OP you can try this for bypassing the iCloud thing but its super expensive. 100% legit though. Chronic is/was huge in the jailbreaking scene.

    If it's not a 5 or 5s, don't even bother.

  10. So I took the phone back to the lost and found and left it totally bricked up.  Then I lost my job there (attendance issue around my vacation totall BS)
And now it looks like the DOULCI servers are back online and updated.  fuck I wish I kept that phone.  Doulci seemed like the best way to go, BY FAR for getting past the icloud lockout.  For all those with this same issue here's where you need to go
