I don't want to waste money buying a real bong, so I usually make one from a water bottle. Is a water bottle a good size for it? Or should I use something smaller, like those mini water bottles, or something bigger, like an apple juice bottle? Also, if you could could you include the pros and cons of each one? Thanks.
Those tall Gatorade bottles. Decent size. Although when you're in not just any pickle but a dill pickle any bottle will suffice. Hell, an apple. An orange. Your parents Arab? A hookah (without the coals.) shit man slap some fattening peanut butter on a graham cracker bake a .5 nug in foil for 15 mins at 250f then sprinkle it on the pb mix it in real well slap the other bp cracker on it to sandwich wrap in foil bake that bitch for 22 mins exactly then cool it down eat it then chase it down with some mango juice from nectar. By the time the juice gets digested your edibles do too and bang [enter name of chemical in mangoes that interact with cannibanoids (cannibinoids?) and boost high HERE] bada bing bada boom your ass is toasted. I'm fucking broiled.
Just buy a $30 little bong or like a $10 mini pipe. Homemade shit usually is not good for you. I'm assuming your ur using tinfoil and not glass for a bowl.
You won't waste money unless you break it. A proper glass bong cannot be replaced by a plastic bottle. But if you don't care about your health, I've heard the large Pom pomegranate juice bottle makes a good bong. Plus it's excellent juice, if you don't mind it being a little overpriced.
To answer your question, any bottle will do, it really doesn't matter too much. If I were you I would specifically look for bottles that mimick the shape of bongs. But in all reality you'd be much better off breaking down and spending 20 bucks on a novice glass bong. With that you will have more pleasant sessions, and won't have to worry about making a new bong every session either. It's just a better decision in the long term business.
Buying a nice glass bong is never a waste of money. It makes your flower tastes amazing and stays that way if you keep it clean. But I can understand if you live with your parents and can't have something displayed for the world to see. I made one out of a gatoraid bottle and and a tuba mouthpiece as the bowl. If you don't want to spend the money on a bong what else do you smoke with?

those fat but average height gatorade bottles. also its not the healthiest considering plastic can get too hot and melt. it can be done but not advised.
