Legos First Grow - Bf Sweet Tooth Auto

Discussion in 'Indoor Grow Journals' started by Legoman1993, Jul 30, 2014.

  1. Hello everyone! This is my first ever grow therefore am creating a journal to follow my journey
If any of you more experienced growers has any feedback / tips / advice for me I would be extremely grateful for your input!

I understand there has been a lot of controversy over the Barney's Farm Sweet Tooth Auto, with a lot of growers saying that they simply do not auto therefore I am apprehensive of how this strain will perform.

Here are some details of my grow:

    Strain: Barneys Sweet Tooth Autoflower
    Stage: Day 29
    Medium: Plant Magic Soil Supreme
    Light: 600 watt HPS
    Pot size: 3 Gallon
    Nutes: Plant Magic Range

<div>Any input / help would be greatly appreciated! bearing in mind this is my first ever grow!
I will continue posting regular update pictures, and hope to hear from you soon guys!

Here are some pictures of my journey so far (Up to day 29):

  2. Hello again!
They showed there sex around a week or so ago and I believe that they are now starting to pre-flower although I am not sure and need some advice / confirmation?

Does this mean that they ARE going to auto properly? (A lot of people say they are not autos and failed to auto and had to force them to auto through changing the light cycle)
This is a close up picture of the top of a plant that I believe is a Female Preflowering:

    Preflower?

Does anybody else think that they are stretchy and not very bushy for day 29 of an Autoflower? Anyone got any tips for me?

That is for sure a pre flower in the 1st pic, looking good! Are all your plants starting to flower? I'm fairly new at this but I could suggest topping them while they veg, it will help them bush out & will most likely double your yield

    Thanks for the replies guys!
IrregularFungus I have read online repeatedly not to top autoflowers, If I was growing a photoperiod strain I would definitely consider topping them man but everybody says topping is only detrimental to autoflowers.
Most of them have begun to flower, there is a few that havent even shown sex yet and are well behind so I dont have much hope for them man, we will see though!

Daedae she's looking reaall nice bro! Ill be following!
I was weary about LST'ing as I have read very mixed opinions about doing this to autoflowers and also as I am a complete newbie didnt want to destroy my plants haha! but I took your advice and decided to try and LST 3 of them as an experiment to see if LST'ing would improve the results so we shall see when finished, It has definitely given more light penetration to the ones I did it too! (Don't judge me for my newbie LST technique haha ;) )

And yea your right, I moved the light a few inches closer, I was weary of heat burn as some of the tips occasionally curl up (not badly) but I have 2 fans on them so I will just keep watching them :)

  6. They look good my friend... the prob is without the lst you will have one good bud but not much else head chief has a pic up in my first journal and pulled 65g dry with only 126w of cfl but I have seen full grows with mh or hps bulbs only pull half that as little as a 1/4 of smoke but he got me going on lst and now find it a must.... I went heavy lst though the trick is to tie it over and once she hits the side of your pot just tie her in a circle to the side of the pot... you might not get a huge yield but the smoke should be dank

  7. 65g off an auto!! Niceeee!!
Haha have you got any pics of tying it around the pot? That sounds really interesting.

I think I will do some light LST on the plants, but I think I will leave doing major experiments after my first grow, because I will want something to compare it too and am also weary about pushing them too far and ruining the crop =/ I am just hoping to get a decent amount of fairly decent bud from this one really you know.
    Thanks for the advice bro!
    Peace

  8. Here you go sir read through this... its my first journal great charts for sick plants and around page 2-3 there is a great drawing of the lst I talk about

  9. Ya my bad! Didn't really look into auto.. Assumed the only difference between auto & regular plant was the auto forces itself into flower  without having to switch the light cycle, these other guys will be a lot more help! Good luck!
