New Jersey Conditional Discharge Program

Discussion in 'Real Life Stories' started by kramericaaaa, Jul 30, 2014.

  1. So I know that this has been discussed at length on this website but I thought I would pose my questions on here as well.
\nAbout a week ago I was charged with possession of paraphernalia, no weed found just smoking paraphernalia. Anyway I entered the conditional discharge program in Morris County NJ and while I have not been contacted by a Probation Officer yet I am anticipating it. The judge said that the program would last for a year with up to 4 drug tests within that time period.
\nMy question is what have other people in my area experienced with the conditional discharge program. Should I expect to hear from the PO soon? I have heard many people say that they had only 6 months of probation, even though they were caught with more than just paraphernalia. Could I expect my probation period to be shorter than the year? I have also heard that while I was told that I could be tested up to 4 times, I most likely will only be tested once (with a saliva test no less).
\nIs what I heard true? I would just like to know as much as I can about this process and what to expect.

I don't know about New Jersey but I don't think they are going to give you probation for paraphernalia.

Did you already pay the ticket or are you going to court?  If you go to court you can just talk to the cop and the prosecutor and say something like "I don't want this to affect my career or college or whatever"  then they usually will drop the charges in my experience.

Everytime I have been caught with paraphernalia the cops have been nice enough to drop the charges because it really isn't as big of a deal as possession.

  7. Nah, I guess not, the cop was not exactly trying to do me any favors cause the judge and prosecutor decided that the conditional discharge program was necessary.

Sutra, I appreciate that, Ill definitely hit you up, hopefully I figure out what the deal is soon. Just dont love waiting for the PO to contact me.
