First time poster here. I seem to be able to get most of my info from just searching and actually reading. However I need some help and its very specific. So I recently purchased a used CAP Gen1e generator that came with a propane quick connect hose with built in regulator. There was also no power supply. Also there was already a regulator already tied into the gas valve. So no problem on the power supply. After some research I found that its just a 110V to 24V inline transformer with a cheap little plug. Since I'm in the HVAC business, go to the truck and grab a standard 24 trans and a furnace line plug. Ok install everything and test. I get spark. So since the propane hose fits directly on the other regulator thats on the back of the generator, I install and purge the line. It fires up after several tries. A couple things though. What is the flame suppose to look like? It looked like a pretty wild flame with yellow. I checked the burner and it says 066. Is this the right burner? How would I know if it is set up for natural gas? Or for propane? Where can I find this info? Please any help. I want to start putting this bad boy to work. Thanks guys
thanks dawill.. I have it already. Just was trying to see if anyone had one and possibly take a pic of the flame or check the markings on the burners.
Do I need to post in a different section? I see that there are plenty of views. Has nobody used a CO2 generator before?
I don't use CO2, but when I did, I had a simple bag hanging in the tent. Sorry, I thought the manual would help. Have you tried YouTube for videos about it?
I suspect you're at altitude greater than your unit is setup for. http://www.scvhydro.com/bwgs-generator-expansion-burner-high-altitude-6500-p-9992.html Install medium or high altitude burners as required for your location. The yellow flame indicates an incomplete combustion process due to air / fuel ratio. Carbon monoxide is a possibility. Always good to have a CO alarm in the area. No I'm in Texas. No I switched over from being in a home with natural gas and am now having to use a propane tank. I've been wondering if the autopilot burners will work. The CAP brand is no more, I think they went out of business.
Propane needs a different regulator than natural gas. Sent from my SM-N900V using Grasscity Forum mobile app
