Question: Random And Periodic Drug And Alcohol Testing

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by DROgotmyEYES, Jul 26, 2014.

  1. I recently got a job in a specialized industry and was reading over the offer and saw the following;

    ''Company reserves the right to conduct random and periodic drug and alcohol testing during the term of your employment."

    My question: is this an arbitrary clause by HR that they will not follow up with or is this a policy enforced for all employees??

    Background info:
    -degreed job in specialized field (relating to science)
    -big company (1000ish employees ranging from generic jobs to highly specialized jobs)
    -they do have pre-employment drug screening

    --thoughts and experiences with this sort of situation???
