Edibles At Washington Airport?

  1. Hey everyone!

I just joined because I saw how helpful some of these forums have been before. I've looked and tried to find a similar question but haven't been able to....so here it goes

Basically, I'm in Seattle for the summer. In a month, I fly from Seattle Tacoma Airport to Dulles International Airport. I want to take edibles (specifically chocolate bars) with me because they're wonderful and there's nothing even close like that back home. They don't smell particularly strong or anything like that.

Here's my plan....I'm gonna bring them with me in my carry on. I'm thinking about a few different options, but one is breaking up the bars into pieces and then rewrapping them in other chocolate wrappers. I was also considering breaking them up into smaller pieces and putting them in trail mix. I'm going to pack a lunch as well for the flight which I'd probably try to group together with the trail mix and/or rewrapped bars. Overall, it'd be less than an ounce (legal limit in Washington).

I've read that you won't get in major trouble for having it at Seattle Tacoma, and I doubt I'd get in trouble at Dulles because it's not an international flight. Not sure though.

Has anyone ever done something similar? Suggestions? Tips? Warnings?

  2. You've got the right idea. Carry on is the way to go. Just recently I was leaving Colorado and I brought some rock candy edibles(forgot the name) stashed in a mint case and was blitzed the entire flight.

  3. I realize chocolate might be a little more difficult but those things don't smell. At least remove/change the wrapper though.
