Lst W/ Scotch Tape?

  1. I saw a video tut of LST for your plants with scotch tape by taping one of the top leaves to the side of your pot I was just wondering if anyone has ever tried this method before?.... Here is the link to the video http://youtu.be/VtbYCVivYL0

  2. no, use garden string, works much better.

  3. I agree. I've tried this and the scotch tape wouldn't stick well to the leaves. Within 10 mins they came off. I use sprinkler wire. Only cause I get the left over scraps from work. I've even used speaker wire. Just something that won't cut into the plant

  4. Tape seemed easier but I guess it's not a very good method I read a lot of bad stuff with string also having to do with knots & things like that ....

  5. garden twine is soft and wont hurt the plant, I used it on all mine and they are massive, doing just fine haha.

  6. Will give it a try where can I find some ? Wal mart, Home Depot etc ?

  7. yes, they have it pretty much everywhere. Good luck.

  8. Here is a pic of my plants the middle one is growing rapidly so I was looking into training it & what are some of the best methods ....

  9. I used dental floss to lst my plants

I'm about to say screw it and seed bomb everywhere I go.

I've been studying the scrog method a lot as of late. I'm just trying to figure out how I can scrog in such the small space I have. I'm dying to try it though

I'm about to say screw it and seed bomb everywhere I go.

  12. Well that's what scrog was made for! :) Check out this picture. I hope it helps give You an idea if You want to try it in a smaller place.

Notice the edges are put more upwards.

Chicken wire is possible, hog wire would probably be better. Or something else that You have in mind. Part of growing is being creative!

  13. Taping the leaves worked for me when my plants were small but now I just use string, hook a branch, and duct tape it to the edge of the pot. No drilling holes to tie knots and it's easily adjustable

  14. I prefer lst over scrog because with scrog it's hard to move your plants around and accessibility is limited

  15. I use plastic coated garden wire for LST and tying down. Can cut it to any length, and I just re-use the same little pieces when I move a tie down point. Doesn't damage the plant and wont cut into it.

I am doing my first scrog and I will say although it may make a nice canopy its a pain in the ass not being able to move my plant how I choose, especially if you are in a smaller area. If I had the same scrog ( 20" X 20") in a bigger room I wouldn't mind it as much.

  16. I know this is an old thread, but maybe someone can tell me. I saw this video online last week. What is the purpose of pulling the plant down on one side like that? What happens to the other side that is now not getting any light? Now I assume they will stay in that position after a couple days, so does this dude just do the same thing to the other side after that? Wouldn't that create one fucked up, crooked plant? I was confused with that video. But a lot involved with growing confuses me.
