Tell me if this design already exists, but I did have the idea for a new bowl piece design that would effectively take away the chance of ash falling into your bong. Instead of having a small hole at the bottom of your bowl like most, or one with a built in screen that hardly helps. You could have a bowl piece that has no hole in the bottom at all, the weed just sits in the bowl and can't possibly fall through. If you put very small slits right near the top of the bowl, little vents essentially that weed cannot go through, but the smoke from the bowl will be sucked up above the weed and into these tiny slits in the glass. And then the smoke is inside the bowl piece then and resume its normal travel into the water. I think it's a pretty great idea, I mean this could eliminate the need for an ashcatcher, and eliminate the disgusting brown bong water we all hate. The only problem I see is that ground weed bowls wouldn't work well with this design, as ground weed could possibly fall through the slits of the bowl was packed too high. Anyone else think this would be a great design? I mean I don't see why it wouldn't work, the smoke would instantly be forced to travel through the slits at the top of the bowl because of your inhalation. I just had to share this idea, and once again I have no idea if it's already been done or not. Anyone else have this idea before? Or anything you wanna say for that matter, I just feel like this design would eliminate ash being sucked into your bongwater all together. Tell me what you guys think. It would not work. What if you just wanted to put a single snap into the bowl. It would not work. You would have to pack it like a mountain on top of the bowl and even then, the ashes would get sucked through the slits.
Illadelph has a slide called the Hot Hit. It doesn't have a center hole but has several around the side like you're describing. It's supposed to be used for concentrates so I don't know how well it would work for flowers.

ahhhh that makes a lot of sense, damn I thought I was onto something lololol. Oh well. I have a bowl piece with a honeycomb design built it screen if that's what you're talking about. The screen works great but the shape of the bowl is so weird, flame can only touch the very top of the bowl, if you put it inside the bowl the flame goes out right away.
