Thoughts On My Groups Songs?

  1. I know. This is an extremely douchey and self-centred thing to do. I'm sorry. But I actually am interested in hearing what some of you guys think of my group from high school. Here's our Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/theears-2

We formed a couple years ago back in 2012. My friend Bryson, the lead singer and guitar player put us together. I was the bass player, and our friend Alex was the drummer. Bryson played by himself at our schools Battle of The Bands  the previous year  just as an act during the intermission. Alex began to play the drums near the end of 2011. In February 2012 Bryson asked Alex and I if we'd like to play together that year's Battle of The Bands and we both said yes. We called our band The Ears because we couldn't think of another name and we needed one to sign up. It came from a joke on Kenny Vs Spenny. I can't remember which episode it was, in one of them Kenny takes a bong hit or a drag or whatever and says "Want to hear the shortest word in the world? Ere!" and he passes the bong or pipe or joint or some shit to somebody else. And so Bryson jokingly said once that we should start a band called the The E'res. Anyway we played four songs. Two of which are on are Soundcloud: What Happened and Icicles. We also played another one that is untitled that we haven't recorded and a cover of Strange Times by The Back Keys. We actually came in second but I think it was partially/fully due to Bryson's popularity among the crowd.

The band was really just something we did for fun. We didn't take it too seriously. After that we would pretty much just jam together, occasionally putting together new stuff. We haven't played together since after we all went away for college. We'd like to though, it's just that our drummer's been away. Bryson and I still play together.

Bryson was pretty much the leader of the group. He wrote virtually everything. To be honest Alex and I were really just his backing band. I wrote one song though, which is on our SoundCloud.

All right, well I'm really high and I just realized that I wrote a whole fucking lot about the group. If you actually read all that, I really appreciate that. I can't really reward you with anything for that, but hey, thanks a lot!

So, tell me what you think of the songs. Be completely honest, but also be constructive.

Personally, I think this stuff is pretty fucking horrible. We did this stuff when we were 17, and it's hard to believe we were that stupid 2 years ago.
