-I am going to start a journal once I get my 5 rooted clones into Fox Farms Ocean Forest. -I currently have 8 26w CFLs that I will be starting the clones with. -I just bought an OLD SCHOOL 400w Metal Halide light. My plan is to change to the 400w MH once the plants get a little size to them... BUT: I am worried the old school metal halide I just bought off Craigslist is too dim. I have never seen a MH bulb lit up, but to the eye it doesn't seem as bright as I was expecting. Should a 400w MH seem WAY brighter than an ordinary CFL? A single CFL seems to brighten up the 5*8 ft. room better. I'm trying to post pictures, but there is something wrong with the file type. GC says "You aren't permitted to upload this kind of file." I took a pic with a cell phone, e-mailed it to myself, downloaded it to my desktop, and then tried to attach it to this post. Any suggestions? -After an LST veg, I'll switch to 12/12 under an air-cooled 1000w HPS.
OK, so this is the 400 W MH. It is bright! Just took a little while to warm up. I'm thinking about starting a vertical grow with this light rather than fabricating a reflector. I would have to purchase a vertical cool tube w/1000 watt HPS when ready for 12/12. What do you guys think???
Bump! Need vertical advice. Maybe a fan method to keep all the plant stalks moving o grow up strong. I want some big-boned ladies!
So, I'm getting my clones tomorrow. 6 x Black Water OG. I think because it is Indica Dominant, it will be a great vertical grow. I NEED VERT ADVICE! I want to put a screen around the light, but I am considering a different method than putting a circle fence around the light. Since I have 6 plants, I am going to make 6 separate screens and place them around the light in a hexagon shape. Each fence will not touch another and will side scrog only 1 plant. This will allow me to maneuver plants around and allow me to maintain the grow better after the plants are entwined with the screen. I'm going to skip the CFLs and start with the 400wMH tomorrow. Starting a vertical grow tomorrow with 6 well rooted clones of Black Water OG Kush. - 5 gallon pots of Fox Farms Ocean Forest. - 400 watt Metal Halide to start. - No real ventilation to start. - Small fan blowing up past the bulb. - Vertical LST ScrOG - When I 12/12 I will be using a 1000 watt HPS cool tube with inline fan/carbon filter. Here are my babies! They were cloned with a hydro method and then placed into straight coco. I was told not to transplant them into soil for a week or 2. When I put them into FFOF, how long should I wait to add nutes?
