Have You Used Any Of These?

  1. So I have a problem with slime in my DWC. Apparently, and based on lots and lots of readings, it's not pythium or algae. I believe its bacteria! I used RotStop (beneficial bacteria) and GuardianAngel (enzymes) and neither help. In fact when I added them the problem got worse quicker after disinfecting and changing my reservoir. I bought these two things in the first 2 pics to try making compost tea! What do you guys think? Should I try them first without the tea? Should I try the low dose clorox (about 1ml per 5-10 gallon every few days) or go ahead to making my tea? I grow in soil and would really like to experiment with and experience hydro!!!!

  2. I had the problem of slime and did allot of searching for the problem.
    People recommend the tea.
What I found fixed my problem was turning up the air going to the stones. Just a build up on the roots. By turning up the air it dislodged the slime and prevented further slime.

Hope the solution for you is as simple as mine was.

    Best of luck.

  3. In DWC there are contributing factors to a slime problem. To treat your roots use h2o2. Make up a bucket of water and h2o2, approx 120 ml to 4 1/2 gal water. Place the roots in this and soak for about 2 hrs. While setting in this mix, change your pot water and nutes. Make sure you wash the pot with h2o2, then do clean water and nutes. Before you do all that, check your plants for fungus knats. They cause all kinds of problems. There seems to be a couple different kinds of fungus knats. To treat them use either Monterey Bt or AzaMax. Depends on the Knat. Next, this a biggie. Make sure the water temp in the pot stays in the range of 65F to 70F. Roots like the lower temp and also like root teas. If your pot temp is@ 70F or higher use ice cubes to lower the temp. I always check my pot temp and ph daily. If you manage those three things your plant and roots should stay healthy.

  5. I had some clear snot like shit growing on my one of my white widow plant roots. I gave it a h2o2 bath, cleaned the res and it came back. I repeated the process and added dutch master gold (enzyme) it came back but in a day or 2 it was completely gone and showing stronger healthy roots, snot free! Hope this helps.
