Leaves: Brown And Curling And Spots

  1. Hi all! This is my first indoor grow and I'm having some issues with my lovely ladies (fingers crossed).

    Grow specs:

    Indoors
Age: 8 weeks (since first sprout)
Soil: 50% black gold, 25% coco, 25% peat moss
    600w MH
    20 inches from lights
I water when top of soil is dry, so every 1.5 to 2 days
Used nature safe fertilizer last Tuesday (7/14) on small one. Sprayed with fish-oil on both last Thursday.
    Do not know pH.
Temp is 76, with 50% humidity
watering with tap water, left to sit for at least 24 hr before using to water.

The smaller one (the one with the burned and curled leaves) has been stunted for at least 1.5-2 weeks. I first noticed yellowing so I assumed it was an N deficiency. Then the leaf tips curling and slight spotting so I wondered if it might be a Zinc deficiency, so, like my Jorge C. bible recommends, I flushed and fertilized anew. The yellowing has since gotten better but the burning and curling leaf tips persist.

As for my larger one, most everything has been in tip-top shape except for recently, I noticed that its two oldest leaves are doing something funky (I don't even have a word for it). And that there are brown spots under them. Also, some of the leaves have tiny yellow spots which I have identified as Mg deficiency, so I'm going to take care of that by watering with Epsom salts like Jorge recommends.

Thanks in advance for all of your help! Feel free to hit me with any questions if anything I posted is unclear.

  2. Looking at the pictures, it looks like spray damage most likely from a product that would contain oils. Have you used and pesticides/fungicide sprays recently?

  3. I found with tap water I had to let de chlorinate for 48 hours. Not sure if our town water just has extra, but I was getting results similar to yours. 48 hours was too long to remember to set up 4 to 5 gallons for feeding, so I switched to rain water only and have not had those issues since =). I even went as far as boiling my tap water for a few feedings.

  4. Should I be worried ? Only really effecting some leaves on 2 of the 4 plants ? Also lower fan leaves are turning bright yellow and wilting ?
