Is This A Close Enough View Of The Trichs To Determine When To Harvest

  1. See pictures bellow.

Is that a close enough view to determine when to harvest? Am I correct in saying they have passed the clear stage and are onto the cloudy stage? I should be waiting for them to turn a bit amber, then we harvest? Any guess as to how much longer?

I'm nearing 8th week of flowering.

Any info would be appreciated. This will be my first harvest, and I want to make sure I time it right

The last couple pics have the  best view.

    Thanks!

  2. A resounding NO. You need magnification x 30 at the very least. You're looking for the teeny tiny trichome heads.

  3. I don't need a loupe to tell you that you are only half way done. 3 to 4 weeks minimum.

  4. yeeah you got quite a while to go looks like

  5. 4 weeks easy but thats just my 2 cents.....you should invest in a pocket magnifier to get it right or your just pissin in the wind

  6. I wait for the hairs to go red and recede back into the callyx. After the callyx swells. I can tell with my naked eye whether or not trichs are clear or milky. My opinion is if their not big enough to see with a bright light and two good eyes. You're rushing it. Let the plant die. The degradation of trichs is much slower than the maturation. My opinion entirely.

  7. Thanks for the advice! I'll get a hold of some magnification.

I guess I was just being hopeful that harvest was soon, as the branches are having a hard time supporting to buds weight. I ended up having to tie up most branches, as a lot of them started to bend and twist downward... I've had a fan blowing on them all along to give them strength, but I guess that was not enough. It's good to know that the buds will be getting even bigger.. i thought they were already pretty big all around.. Maybe my yield will be much more than i had hoped.

    Thanks for all the advice!

It seems that you may have your weeks mixed up, Is this week 8 of 12/12?

    Or week 8 total?

Either way, you got about 4-6 weeks to go..

Good news is it's looking good, may wanna ease back on the nutes a tad though...
Looking fiya though!!!!!... Keep it up.

I usually go at least a week, even 3 weeks past the recommended flowering cycle...
For example, my first grow... I was at week 9(recommended chop time).. Checked my glands, only had about 10% amber, so I decided to wait..

I kid you not..the next morning, ALL of my colas flopped down, with the burst of growth that commonly occurs near the end of the cycle. So I just tied them up with some bamboo stakes, for an additional week.

They really fatten up near the end, I like my glands to be about 25-35% amber, depending on strain.

Really nice for your first harvest! :)

Did I miss the strain?...what's her name?

  11. Sorry, It's week 8 of 12/12

That said, I'm now on week 9 of 12/12 but there has not been much progress. Aside from new flowering on lower branches that I don't even remember being there. Is it possible new branches would have grown and started to flower?

Thanks for your input! It's much appreciated

I don't know the strain, they bagseeds.. I'm using these as my test run, then I'll hit up the seeds I ordered online.
