Nail Is Smoking But I Cant Get A Hit

Discussion in 'Concentrate Tools' started by smokengolf, Jul 20, 2014.

  1. Hey everyone, I just got my first rig and was able to get some solid hits the first few days using it. But now when I heat it up, the nail will be smoking and I can't get a hit. Any ideas on what's wrong or what I'm doing wrong?

  3. my guess: youre doing it wrong.

you can watch many examples of people doing it correctly on popular video websites.

  4. If its a ceramic  nail chances are it needs an ISO and q-tip cleaning

  5. Are you forgetting to put the dome on a domed nail? Hmmm

    A pic would help!

Yeah... For sure dude, pix really help.... Basics... Are you getting the nail hot enough. What quality of concentrates do you have? Dome or domeless nail? Is it titanium or glass? If titanium did you cure the nail?

    Lifted a Mile High... :D

  7. Same shit happened to me. Its cause the nail doesn't get hot enough and the oil just ends up sitting in a pool cause its not hot enough. Then, you try and heat up your nail again and it burns off the remainder of the last dab.

How to fix: be sure your nails heated sufficiently, should be visibly glowing red. Also, don't take such fat globs of oil at one time, and to actually ,,'dab' it instead of just holding the dabber to the nail.

  8. I'm guessing its a domeless titanium

True... Otherwise, it might as well be a glob not a dab.... Yeah... domeless titanium is what I have... Convenient!

  10. Either your nail is not hot enough, It's not dome less and you need to use a dome, or it is clogged and you need to heat it and smoke it outta there(Nasty!). Only use oils or some full melt! Don't use it for most bubble and like concentrates. Peace! :bongin:

  11. I can't get picture of it right now because I'm working but I'll get one later... It is domeless titanium, but I think I might not have been getting it hot enough because it wasn't glowing red

  13. Here is what you are doing.

You didn't finish your last dab, there is leftover oil in it. When you torch it, you aren't torching it long enough to burn off the last dab then trying to dab on a nail that isn't hot enough.

Heat it until a little bit after it's done smoking if you have a carb cap, if not go a little longer

  15. Ti is good because it holds heat for a while and you can do Monster dabs!(if that's what you're into) but one of the biggest drawbacks is you can't really tell the temp.! I have a tendency to overheat mine! Quartz is really cool in the fact that, glows red it's ready! Wait about 2 seconds and DAB! The drawback is, it cools off quickly and you can't really do huge dabs. Personally, I like smaller dabs, but that's just me! Peace!

  17. that is so incorrect lol

How can you not tell the temp of Ti? blow on it :p

and you are dabbing off that quartz way too fucking hot if you're only waiting 2 seconds after being red, I would cringe

  18. I know a bunch of dudes dead set on hot dabs.  Then again they are happy to consume shit product too.  hmm

  19. Dang people like some hot dabs around here. I hardly ever see red on either of my nails.
