pollen collection

I was wondering what the easiest method of collecting pollen from males without contaminating it with anything.
Any info would be appreciated... I was thinking to put a bag over that branch for a couple days... what do you think?

Seperate the males in a different room if you want seeds. inadiquete(sp?) lighting for them is fine their gonna die soon anyway. Take a plastic baggy and keep it around the male balls til he blows his load. Then take the bag and close it. Wash the outside of the bag to get the pollen off of it. Take the baggy and put it around a bud on your fems. I wouldn't take the baggy off til after harvest when I could open it outside the grow room. Do it right and you can have half seedless bud and half seeded or w/e ratio u want.

Thats not the best way to do it as you would be leaving the bag there and any wind blowing inside could pollenate other buds on that same tree or all the trees.

What you do is keep the plant in another room or outside, when it starts to pop its pollen sacks put a large hefty bag over the entire tree and cut it down, turn upsided down in bag and pinch the bag closes around the bottom of the main stem where you cut it and shake the hell out of the plant.

most if not all the pollen on the tree will fall in the bag, remove the male plant and dump it. then carefull outside or someplace away from your females transfer the pollen in the bag into zip log bag and lable it with the strain that it is.

keep that in the refridgerator until your ready to pollenate a couple buds for cross breading or for additional seeds.

when your ready, take the female you want to pollenate a little outside the grow room and take your ziplog bag and open it a little, with a small artists paintbrush dip it in the pollen and lightly brush a few of the small useless buds at the very bottom of the plant, (brush the pollen on the white hairs) wherever you brush for every 2 hairs you will get 1 seed in that area only (it wount affect the entire plant as some might tend to believe)

from there close your ziplog bag and return the female to the flower room.

your done.

HIGH All, ok this is what I do.....I cut O.F.F.F. All the Branches but one....I mean how much pollen does one need eh. Of coarse the Male plant is All by it's self in it's own space....I spray water everywhere (water and Pollen don't mix). The Branch is bent down and the Pollen is collected on a mirror. Works for me.

For me i just let the male flower, then i use wax paper(the best for pollen)it slides off easy....
Put wax paper under the plant and give a shake.....

all the above is good techniques, but to me i like precision dont want to pollenate the entire plant but just a few small nugs at the bottom.

look up at what? you could have as easily said a week, a month, a couple months, a year, a couple years. and if you dont exactly know you could have said: its best use asap and i would have said thank you and ill try storing some for long periods of time in different methods to see how long it can be effective. Cause lets face who like growing male for pollen.

couldnt you just cut off the balls from the plant and cut them open with a box cutter or x-acto knife and then put the pallen balls in a bag then shake them like hell and then take out the pollen balls and you could leave the males alive and not worry about pollenation of all your plants just whatever bud you put the bag on
