Avb Brownies.

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by _:Jolly:_, Jul 18, 2014.

  1. I just made just super dank edibles. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures but I did record what I did.
First off things you will need and terms.
You will need a brownie mix that calls for 1/2 cup of oil vegetable oil.
You will need 10-16 grams of avb. You can use less but it would probably be better to make a different recipe if you have less. Avb is already vaped bud meaning that it has gone through a vaporizer.
If you have a double boiler that will be great but you can set up makeshift water bath as well.
The most important step in this whole recipe is the extraction of the bud into the oil. You don't want the oil to get too hot it needs to be kept right below a boil. The bud needs to soak in this hot oil for at least an hour. After the avb has been soaked and extracted just make the brownies as if you were using normal ingredients. Some people remove the avb from the oil with a strainer but I leave it in and bake it into the brownies. These are deceptively powerful and compare to concentrate brownies. As with all edibles make sure you eat something half an hour before so your liver doesn't destroy the good stuff.

  3. Yeah AVB is amazing for edibles. While at first glance it doesn't make sense because you used most of the THC. The reason it is so good is that it is completely decarbed and it still has almost every other cannabinoid. I would even go as far as to say that avb is better for edibles than fresh bud.

That's an interesting theory... I'm anticipating a reply on this decarbing belief & it's benefits ... Because I used 3.7gr of AVB the other day, and made 6 cookies... I ate two the next morning, and I might as well have been on planet Mars! Today I used 2.2gr of platinum bud... I have eaten 5 cookies! And feel like its one.... Recipe same sizes.... Any thought? Also do you juice the plant raw?

  5. Yeah I have a similar experience. I bought some concentrate brownies and was getting to a good level but I had to eat like a 2x2 square. I ate one 1x1 of my brownies and was scary high for like 6 hours. Like I was greening out which is rare. My thought is that by vaping you are doing a controlled de-carb. By microwaving or putting it in the oven it is not as controlled and it is either vaporizing the THC and destroying some of the cannabinoids or it is not de-carbing it fully. I personally think it is destroying the active compounds in the marijuana because many people report getting a contact high while they are de-carbing. I used oil instead of butter because oil is easier to control than butter heat wise. It also prevents the bud from coming in contact with oxygen which may or may not cause unwanted reactions. I may be wrong about this and I haven't done any of the chemistry to prove my theory but my observations are pointing in that direction.

Hey, yeah... The fun of experience I guess.... I just scooped up 4.0 grms of AVB & made butter... It's dank, dark & smelly.. Lol. This is what we did last time...so it's most likely potent. About to try it. What's greening out actually? Like the point of no return? I like your idea of oil over the butter... What kind of oil?

  7. Yeah butter is great for taste and it should work ok. It is just harder to do honestly it carries extra steps to do it right. The most consistent method with butter is to use water but if you use water than you have to extract the butter which can take a few extra hours in the fridge. Oil is just easier to work with. I used just plain vegetable oil because it was what the recipe called for and it was all I had in my kitchen at the time but you can use any oil really like coconut or olive oil. As long as it has a high fat content. Greening out is a loose term that describes smoking too much. It can mean different things like some people say it when they have smoked all day and they are just tired. I think the most common definition on this forum is that it is the point of no return. When you realize you are way too high but it has just begun and there's no way to stop it. For me it is usually a panic attack associated with paranoia and it has only happened when I have eaten strong edibles, have been really crossfaded, and or have taken a lot of dab hits. Honestly greening out on edibles can be pretty annoying because the high last so long and grows in intensity. So if you start panicking when you are high on edibles you are probably going to be that way for a while. Of course this happens more with new smokers and low tolerances.

  8. Sounds like you hit the nail on the head lol.... Makes sense. An old school toker learning a lot of newer terms :D .... I've been trying some medical edibles as well... My exp. has been the some of the Sativa qualities... Make me uncomfortable in excess.... Indica is my fav.
