Thinking About Trading In My Car

Discussion in 'Planes, Trains & Automobiles' started by James Ryan, Jul 17, 2014.

  1. I want to trade in my 07 Altima 2.5s. It's been having a couple problems lately and it's almost paid off (owe 1200ish). I wanted to pay it off and just have it without a payment but I just got back from the dealer and it has a couple issues an it'll cost 1500 to get them all fixed. Rather just start over. My girl overpaid for her 2010 Murano LE...90,000 miles, almost 400, month (in my name, big mistake) she wants to trade that in too, so it'll be one or the other...she still owes 19,000 and it'll probably get 12,000 so id still have to worry about that 7,000 on that loan.

If i get 3,000 for it (Altima) and since I'll be making almost 1,000 a week next couple months I can probably have 5,000 total for a down payment.

I change my mind on which car I want all the time probably a 2012 with low miles...want the car to be around $20,000 give or take..

    Any ideas?

I've been really thinking about a orange Dodge Charger, I've been wanting the new Kia Optima's as long as it's fully loaded. I always wanted a Infiniti fx, and the Acura ZDX (price wise, probably not an option.

  2. An altima with 1500 in fixes, is scrap.

Right now it's only 800 in fixes..they said with the keyless altimas I'll have a problem in the future that'll I'll to fix and that's around 600. The KBB with a fair grade says it's worth 5500. Minus the rest of the loan and the 800 in repairs I figured 3,000 would be possible.

Are you trading In. Or selling? If so, the Altima is first priority. Don't sell a car with a lot of debt. Cause then you might not make enough to pay it off(with the return) yeah exactly it's not worth it. Once you pay it off it won't be much less than what you would get now.

  5. I'll definitely be trading it in..still need two cars. I love the Murano, just wish it wast so much. Might have to refinance after it gets paid down some.

  6. You can get a lot of good cars for less than 20,000.
I got my BMW 328i for 18,000. High class car. I put down half for the Loan. I have a rather high interest rate at 6% but it'll be paid off In 3-5 years.

  7. Intey to stay from the luxury cars. Insurance rates, repair costs, etc. right now I am leaning toward the dodge charger (insurance rates would jump on that one) but ill probably change my mind in the 2 months when I finally decide to pull the trigger.

  8. Chargers are good cars. But they have a high value on insurance. Well I'm hitting the bed. Hope you got some clarity on the situation. You kindve already have it figured out. Good luck to you.

affordable rear wheel drive. get the 2.0T

  11. I would avoid Kia like a hooker oozing from all holes. You can get a 2014 Mazda3 for under 20. It won a lot of awards.
