Waddup blades, I've been lurking for a while, reading, learning, etc. Now Im gonna share my journal with you, Nirvana AF Jock Horror is the strain, Why that that title? Cuz I've never tried or seen different strains, over here we just have some colombian pressed stuff, its not that bad but it can be better am I right? AF Jock Horror from Nirvana seeds bank 3x25w CFLs 1x2700k & 2x6500k, 75w total 3 gallons pot 2/3 parts of Organic dirt mix including some micros (Trichoderma, Metarhizium & Beauveria and Paeclomyces) and 1/3 part of a mix including: Chicken Manure, rice hulls, charcoal, limestone and alluvium. Homemade light hood. Hood & Lights Homemade hood, not mylar but some gift wraping paper (could listen an advice about this! Thx) Got the lights aprox 7" from the pot. Germination Phase: Self-explanatory, 32h aprox. took it to germinate Sorry for the bad quality. Planting and veggin: 3 gallons pot with the mix described above Didnt take photos the first three days after planting; gave her some water with lime to take down the dirt pH a little. Here's Day 5, gave her some tap water, pH test on tap water = 7 Day 7, A glass of water with lime juice. 16/07/14 It's Day 8 from planting to last photo. I have some questions, do I need nutes? if so any of these works? Also if you need help with translating something I'll gladly help. Any advice the dirt mix, lights, watering, anything I'll be much greatful! Sorry for my english if it gave you a hard time. Will continue to post more.
They are stretching for that light bad man u should put your light a few inches from the plants at most and you prob need more
About 4 inches from the plant am I right? Thanks Sent from my GT-S7270L using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Root up. Always up. It shoots up towards soil and when it senses light it naturally does a u turn down. Sent from my HTCEVOV4G using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Actually I dont germ in towels but if I did. Next time drop the seed 1-2 inches and let it germ in soil. Sent from my HTCEVOV4G using Grasscity Forum mobile app
That does not look like root to me your lights off to one side? Or maybe the middle of them they are running towards the light imo you need more lights brotha
Cool, would changing the bulbs to 42w help at all? Sent from my GT-S7270L using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Day 9, something is definitely wrong, brown spots on the 2 first/older leaves, the other 2 are perfectly green. Got some pictures but couldn't get the cellphone camera to focus a close pic, sorry for the bad quality, I didn't expect this to go wrong so early but yea here it is. Also, I watered her after these flicks.
Ok do after looking at the pics it seems that your plants grew thin and lanky which caused it to fall over. Next time start in party cups. Make drain holes and fill half ful with soil. Once the seedlings break soil and stretch add more soil and bury the stem close to the leaves. Roots will form on the parts buried in soil and the plant will grow straight and be stronger. The other improvement to limit the stretching would be to increase the amount of light. If indoors you should use 6500k spectum bulbs for veg. And 2700k bulbs for flowering. The spectum is the color of light which should have a blue tint to it during veg and an red orange glow for flowering. As far as the first two leaves, they are only temporary and will yellow and die once the second set ( true leaves) form. If the leaves yellow and die besides the first leaves them you have soil/ bug issues. What are you using for soil and what us you lighting?
I've read that AF always use the same lights for the whole grow (Correct me if wrong, total noob here) what I got now is 2x 25w 6500k and 1x 25w 2700k about 10 inches from the plant, about the soil, im using a local "organic" dirt(The back of this dirt mix says something about some microorganisms I named them at the first post dont really know if it helps) mixed with 1/3 of Chicken Manure, rice hulls, charcoal, limestone and alluvium. Would it help if I somehow cover a part of the stem with dirt? Thanks for the help.
Some people use the same lights but it will hurt yield and quality. By using the correct spectrum for each cycle the plants benifit now. Indoor growing is about growing in ideal c
Some people use the same lights but it will hurt yield and quality. By using the correct spectrum for each cycle the plants benifit now. Indoor growing is about growing in ideal conditions. Lighting is a big part of the picture for growth and flower development. You should shot for 100 watts per plant for the vest results. As they get larger they will need as much light as possible. It sounds like you gave a decent soil mix. What nutrients are you planning to feed the plants once they are big enough? For the stem you could bury it and it will root or leave it. I would bury it to keep the main branch strong.
Cool i was planning to get some 42w bulbs, what about 2x 42w 6500k 1x 25w 2700k for veg and 2x 42w 2700k plus 1x 26w 6500k for flowering? about the nutes, i could order fox farm nutes but it will take a month or so to get my hands on them. I've looked for nutes before I started this but I didn't found anything I could fully trust or know it would do the job. Here are some pics: Btw some of these are foliar so that why I hesitate...
