Hey guys, I started a Marijuana News Blog and would love some input on it from you guys. Any comments or constructive criticism is greatly appreciated. Stay stoney my friends.
I looked it over, and I like what you've got so far! I like the colors and the layout, and all of the subjects are really interesting. I'm constantly reading about the legalization efforts and looking for new websites to read so I will check back with yours again. Good luck with it! I write for a living also.
I'm glad you like it @[member="highandwriting"], thanks for the support! What gives you a headache about it @[member="well highdrated"]? Most stoners love the background. and @[member="Sgtstadanko707"], we made it to give people a platform that they can get caught up on todays marijuana news without having to look at 15 different sites. Like a facebook feed for pot news so to speak. The original authors do such a fine job that I would rather give them the credit instead of rewriting the news for the day. We also post a bunch of good articles and such on our Facebook and funny stoner pics on the Instagram Thanks for all of the support and constructive criticism guys, it is greatly appreciated.
Yea looks like a 12 years olds myspace page. All it needs is autoplay rap videos and transparency settings to make it hard to read.
bright colors, overload of visual information with big, inconsistently formatted pictures and distracting background. (most stoners might love this background as their desktop, not something you use to read information.. if you can). the funky fonts are not working. if you want a news/informational site.. you need to look like one. there are a million beautiful free themes available and you are building stuff like this in 2014.. http://www.tripwiremagazine.com/2013/07/minimal-wordpress-themes.html
Looks good, man. I'm a WordPress guy and the layout/interface you're using doesn't look WordPressey (and I see that smokeycaps.com/blog/wp-admin doesn't exist, hehe). What are you using for your backend? Whatever you're using the one thing I might suggest is checking to see if your platform either has it built in or a plugin is available for aggregating RSS feeds. You can pop in as many as you like and it's more, fresh content for your site with virtually zero effort on your part. Good luck with it!
