Okay so I just finished watching The Fall.  This movie was first presented by david fincher and spike jonze.  Its an alright movie.  very fantastical with great imagery.

My problem is that this movie directly lifts a lot from the amazing 1997 film Baraka.  I mean it's just straight up stealing.  I googled around and I didn't see any results of people calling the director out on this.

I know these are two kind of out there films, but if anyone has seen both are you okay with the stealing of material, and how is it that directors get away with this so often.

for those who havent seen the movies here are the trailers.

Oh man it's been so long since I watched these 2 movies. Thanks for reminding, Im gonna rewatch both of them later.

I dont really see what you call stealling, other than visual effects are nice in both movies. I mean, Baraka
doesnt even have a traditional story

  3. The Fall is a trip. Never seen Baraka but I'll probably check it out soon.

  4. OP you trippin balls bro

  5. No, the OP is completely right on.  It's not just an homage or whatever, it's pretty much stealing a bunch of visual ideas from a film he probably felt confident not that many people saw.  Not too cool IMHO.

  6. OP you are lucky. I doubted that the word "fantasical" even existed. But Webster's has confirmed, that it does indeed exist.

  8. try samsara, that one was also pretty awesome.

think i liked it better than baraka.
