Looks like a good little pipe. It's similar to mine, except I bought mine from an outdoor market. I'd spark up.
only thing i recommend is a brass cap for the top of it. asidde from that it looks a lot like the pipe we go hiking with. we use it as a back up.

That'd be cool to be handed down a pipe. I've got some old lighters from my grandfather but they don't work
Not a fan of metal pipes. Gets too hot and affects taste, plus I'd rather smoke from something inert like glass not from metal that can leach shit into the smoke
Cool pipe I'd never buy one but the fact that it's 30 years old makes it awesome. But as others said it's not homemade I'm sure if that. But to answer your question I would probably smoke out of it once then put it on display or in a important shit box I like my glass
