Sagan looks without to find a sufficent answer for the query of God, and yet, oddly enough, in the same breath he uses an example from without, that is, portraying the inconsequence of the affairs of our planet as that "fraction of a dot", to disvalue the importance of our externally visible world (in the grand scheme of things). But, that's the whole problem, the affairs of the external world, the external, are no more valuable or consequential than is that "fraction of a dot" in the grand scheme of the cosmos... it's the INSIDE that counts, the answer comes from within, not without.
We'll all be dead in a few centuries, or we'll be off of here... We fucked up, fucked up bad. Sadly it's far to late to save Earth, maybe even ourselves. There is still a chance, however slim. But, we need to act now as a planet not a country nor as a singular entity to save our race or face extinction and be forgotten, lost forever, to space. 2am not sure how well that came out, but it's getting posted.
Also here's a much more invoking video, it made me cry like a bitch. We sent this into space, and at the moment has reached interstellar space. It will probably out live us. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4Co1pWSj4M
Sagan is the shit man. dude co-founded NORML. To escape ridicule.from his tightassed colleagues, he called himself Mr. X.
Why is it that Earth, out of the millions of other planets in the galaxy, is the only one that contains life? It makes you wonder, could this be on purpose?
Seriously lol^ at the very least there should be a few advanced civilizations in our own galaxy, not to even start to mention the trillions of other galaxies out there. Sent from my iPod touch using Grasscity Forum
It's all we know. Not all we can believe. Please show us all proof that there is life on other planets. Tell us the truth. Prove that it's a lie.
The proof will come. Maybe in the next few decades. Maybe in the next few centuries, after we're all dead. I'd bet on it coming in the next few decades though, at the rate we're advancing. At any rate, there are some 200 Billion stars in our galaxy. There are some 200 Billion galaxies in the known Universe. That's roughly 40,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 stars in the known Universe. That's a 4 with twenty two zeroes behind it. If even half of them have planetary systems around them, there are a staggering number of planets out there. Also, this Universe seems to be extremely hospitable to life as we know it. It is the height of conceit to think, we're it. That was the point I was trying to make.
For that statement to have been a lie, the person would have to have known there is life on other planets. Your comment is bizarre.
