Do Lord Of The Rings Type Pipes Get Clogged

  1. I am a total geek and like most geeks I love the Lord of the Rings movies and I think it would be cool to get one of those churchwarden pipes that I see on Amazon for $25 or so but I am concerned they will get clogged and it will be very difficult to get a pipe cleaner down in that long stem. If anyone has one let me know if getting clogged is an issue. I am thinking they probably get full of resign and unusable.

  2. no idea but can you link the amazon pipe? i am curious as ive never owned a gandalf pipe either, always wanted one but most headshops have them for 100 dollars+

  3. its $25. Bite the bullet and get it. If worst comes to worst, it's a cool decoration. I might go buy one too just for the fuck of it and i don't even like smoking out of pipes.

  4. pipe cleaner will clean it out. I had a churchwarden some time ago. Don't clean the bowl much though you need that build up of carbon and resin to protect the wood from burnout. I usually kept the stem clean though and didn't have much of a problem. When It broke , I opted for a glass churchwarden style pipe and still have it. Smokes good. and is easier to clean but is in no way as classic as a wooden one.

They have them as cheap as $13.95 on Amazon. Just type churchwarden pipe or Lord of the Rings pipe and you will get lots of cheap Lord of the Rings style pipes.
I really never smoke any more. I just use my Underdog vaporizer pretty much exclusively. I could buy it and build a little stand for it and stain and varnish the stand out in my garage and just it as a decoration and hit it if I feel like it. I think I will buy one. Probably not the $25 one though I will buy the nicest looking churchwarden pipe I can find.

  6. As a fellow Tolkien fan, and bud lover, I also bought myself a Churchwarden pipe, simply because - as stated - they're so cool! However I found that they do clog exceptionally easily, and require continual maintenance and cleaning. If you're willing to put in the time to clean and care for it, it's a brilliant smoking experience (makes me feel like Gandalf lol).

TLDR, buy one, just be prepared to spend some time cleaning and looking after it.

  7. i also have always loved the style and bought a glass one years ago. easier for me to clean although you gotta be a little more careful.

  8. If you are getting a briar pipe, which is for pipe tobacco, you should use a pipe cleaner to keep the stem clean. As you probably aren't smoking tobacco with it, to keep it in good order, the pipe will require more maintenance, as tobacco is less resinous than mj.

Decent write up, I occasionally like to smoke my pipe, but I prefer cigars. Like actual real cigars. No flavored blunts or nothing.
