I have recently left my belief in Christianity and am now an atheist. In a strange way I feel completely free of mental bondage. I can truly enjoy life without the thought of religious beliefs holding me back. Anyway my point has to do with the way the Christian god created the world. why would he put a tempting tree with fruit in a garden to tempt us if he ready knows whats going to happen. Humans are imperfect and are prone to screw up so eating the fruit is bound to happen. Why setup the human race to forever be cursed with turmoil, hate, death, violence, and pain? This sounds like a sick God. Why not just create a perfect world for humans and forever be at peace and commune with God and man. I see no reason to over complicate things with having a son save us from our sins. Also why would God play games with us, such as when people say he works in mysterious ways. Why does it have to be in a way we can't understand? This is one of the many reasons I stop believing in my faith and god. "Wait! We can't stop here, this is bat country!"- Fear and Loathing
Yeah once you figure out that God did it is codeword for we have no idea then you kind of have to lean on the side that has the most compelling evidence. My parents tried to raise me as a catholic but when I was around 12 or 13 I finally managed to say something to them about it and they stopped forcing it on me. I kind of knew earlier on what my beliefs on the subject were, but I was kind of going along with it because it was the same as any other expectation, like chores or schoolwork there was sunday school and church etc. Once I learned Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy, etc. were all just made up, I got the feeling it was the exact same thing with religion. I just can't be that kind of person I couldn't truly believe if I tried. Plus there's so much fucked up in the world why have all of a sudden the miracles and God communicating with mankind etc stopped? Why would it happen to some random group of people in the desert way back when there is no way to prove it? Could have picked a better time like when there was at least video recording. Bam problem solved, God comes down once says hey clears things up no more killing in my name all that jazz. That would be too practical so conveniently God works in mysterious ways.
I know right! Even if the whole of Christianity was true I sure as hell wouldnt want to spend eternity with the Christian god. He puts a load of people on earth, kills thousands of them then tells the rest that if we don't worship him and his son that we spend eternity in hell!?!? Also with the flood Noah and his family were the only ones who God deemed worthy to live and everyone else was in sin. So I guess that means he can just go ahead and flood the earth, killing everyone (including women and children) so he can restart life and give it another go? "Wait! Imo all religions were created to allow a select few to have full control over a population. Its just a tool to make people obey by making them fear a 'higher power' or going to hell if they've been a 'bad person'. All the guy has to do is say 'if you dont do what i say youl go to hell' and bam, who needs enforced slave labour? Now all the workers will work themselves to death by their own 'free will'. Want to conquer a country but you dont have many soldiers? Tell all the people that the other country are satan worshipping savages that will bring about the apocolypse, and everyone can only be saved by wiping them out. Problem solved. I dont see how anyone can be a christian, i mean do you even know history and all the atrocities that were commonplace when dictators were using religion as an exuse to wipe out or 'convert' (slaveify) everyone who wasnt already a mindless believer? I mean come on, there was always some dude in a position of power with his own 'pespective' of the bible or whatever, using it to make himself more powerful. Basically whoever invented religion/christianity was a goddamn evil genious. I just wake and baked so i may have made less sense than i intended..
