Hello all, I'm in the market for a new glass bong. I'm looking for something with a perc/dome/defuser. I'm confused by the large number of options. Looking in the $100 - $150 range makes my head spin. The glass that I'm using now is a relatively inexpensive piece that contains a bubbler (down below) like most bongs and a dome defuser? I hope that my terminology isn't too far off the mark. I put water in the main bowl and also in the defuser that sits in the tube above it. I get a bubbling action in both when I smoke. Some of the pieces that I've seen have two defusers (one above the other). My questions are these: If I buy a piece with multiple defusers (doms or percs) sitting one on top of the other, will I be able to put water in both? Am I looking for trouble using more than one dome/defuser? What do you folks think of ash catchers? Any advice or cautions will be greatly appreciated. Feel free to offer suggestions. If you have a 2 chamber bong, you usually put water in both chambers. Personally I generally don't like ashcatchers, I pick my tubes based on water testing them and how they bubble, sticking an ashcatcher on it, changes how it hits so if I find a tube I like, I don't mess with it. Plus it's an extra thing to wash. For daily driver I prefer 1 chamber because it's easier to clean.
Honestly don't waste your time on percs. More expensive. Plus they can be a pain to fill up, especially more than 1 perc A big bong with a shitload of ice is smoother and gets you higher IMO, plus the drag is WAY less. Thanks. I guess that I've settled on a single perc device bong. I don't know which one yet. Still deciding whether an ash catcher is for me. Any other opinions on them? Happy Fourth everybody.
