2Nd Indoor Grow..problem With Pot Size.

  1. Hey all, Thanks for looking and hope you can give me some input!!!
\nI currently have 4 seedlings a week old.
    1 Strawberry Blue
\n3 White Widow x Big bud.
    \n\n\n\nSoil.
    50% organic soil
    30% perlite
    20% sphagnum peat moss.
    \nVeg room:
36" x 36" base cabinet seedlings go to flower. first 3 pics are WW X BB and 4th is strawberry blue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    \n\nFlower room:
    2' x 3' closet 6 x 100 w and 2 x 125 w CFL,s (all CFL's are equiv to incandescent
\nMy soil seems like it may be holding water too long. 3 of the seedlings took a week b4 needing more water the 4th was 6 days. Does anyone think that is a problem??????
I plan too transplant them at 3-4 weeks to put them into flowering room. 3 are in gatorade bottles with several holes drilled in bottom 1 is a reg
6" pot so I don't think what they are in has anything to do with the watering.
\nMy plan is to grow several short plants approx. 2.5 to 3 ft. My question is, Does anyone see a problem with using most of a 2 liter plastic bottle to grow them in??
It would be very advantageous due to the size of my flower room and I am hopeing to grow small plants in a perpetual grow system so i can harvest something every couple of weeks. anyone think they are not big enough????? If so any alternative ideas would be awesome but I am really shooting for something workable but long and thin compared with short and fat pots.
\nAlso if someone could tell me how they go about feeding their seedlings that would be cool too.
\nSome of the problems with my `1st grow were
\nHot soil! (never buy any soil with nutes, each time I tried to feed they would show signs of nute burn...yet now there's one (last of 1st grow, appx 4 wks to finish) i am struggling with a magnesium deficiency right now or atleast I think thats what it is.
treated with epsom till I can get some cal-mag next week.
Stems are purple is my research right in assuming mag deficiency???
\nanother problem was hopeing that CFL's would do the trick during flower stage.  IMO Bad idea! I have read plenty that say's they don't work well but being a stubborn Irishman I had to find out the hard way. I will be investing in an HID b4 my new seedlings go to flower. first 3 pics are WW X BB and 4th is strawberry blue. Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated.

  2. You can use a 2 liter bottle that's fine if you want small and also you can flower with cfl u just have to use ALL the light ALL the time don't allow shade spot....use the lst techniques to do so..... and keep them close. The hid will give off a ton of heat compared and your area is not that large also for that many plants 8 cfl will no cut it I have 6 cfl on a plant with my 30w led just cause and she is growing great

  3. Also when you go from Veg to flower you have to change the spec of the cfl from blue to red

  4. They look pretty good so far I can't really see the purple stems. So far every seedling I have planted has had a purple stem I must be doing something wrong LOL I have no idea what I'm doing so I am just poking around and being nosy. Good luck with your grow :) peace
