Train Wreck Strain Leaf Tips Turning Brown

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by Hawknest Fan, Jul 2, 2014.

  1. So I am really new to this . Decided I would try my hand at it ...

First off she started out very healthy

Now I'm noticing very slight Browning on the tips of the leaves . Quite a few of them actually

    uploadfromtaptalk1404272169592.jpg

Been watering when the top two inches are dry .. bout once every three days also have had a fan going over the 4 cfl 42w lights

Don't be to harsh on me this is my first grow and have done a lot of reading to get what I have going now

I did top it about a week ago to get a clone

But I don't believe that did it

I'm currently potted in black gold potting soil using 20-20-20 for veg 1/4 tsp per gallon of aged water ... Feeding once a week due to the strength of the nutes

I'm wondering if I should cut the dead tips although it's mostly on the fan leaves

I've read to and not to

Any input would be greatly appreciated as I said this is my first time and just getting my feet wet

    Tia,
    Hawk

Looks like the nutes are whats giving her the brown tips.

No need to cut tips off, only time to cut a leaf off is if it is over 50% dead.

How does she look otherwise ? Like I said just trying this out before I go up to four for my use ? Had four knee surgeries and rather this than pain pills

  4. She really is looking good, I feel for you bud. 13 years ago, broke my back, they fused 4 vertebrae together, fused that to my tail bone and 2 titanium rods to hold in place. The amount of t3s morophine, demerol, phentinyl, and then of course anxiety and depression drugs....... then just after I got back from mexico this past February, I fell off my roof trying to clear an ice damn. Now have severe nerve damage in my neck, c5 and c6 are are showing lack of space between vertebraes..... it took me since 2001 until I fell off my roof this year to get it through my docs head that my body cant handle the pharmaceuticals. I couldn't go to the bathroom right, no brain power or even control of thought. Mary jane has given me the best way of life that I can handle and deal with. =) living in canada is a slap in the nuts aswell. They wont hand out personal use/grower cards anymore, but every single day we hear about yet another medical marihuana grow op being ok'd to produce legally. So I joined the MMAR coalition, fingers crossed that canaduh is a little smarter and does not decide to prey on the sick injured and dying by forcing us to pay outrageous prices for something we could do at home while giving ourselves a boost of confidence and "feel good" by managing our babies and cultivating them into the meds we need. Fingers crossed canaduh does not dish out numerous LP cards and turn all these millionaires into billionaires off the sick people of their own communities.

  5. Move up here to Washington it's legal lol

Just kidding they have it so messed up atm to many loopholes

Anyhow back to train.... Should I flush it ?

Cause this started like two days ago and . This has been very a and I mean very light feedings .. so nute burn is kinda shocking

Trust me I believe you and am not questioning you ..

The soil (black gold is 13-4-13)

She's about a month and a half old and only had like five feedings

Also read about adding Epsom salts any input on that ?

I'm all about knowledge and learning and have done plenty of reading

I mixed at half the recommended mixture can anyone help me verify that is the correct way or should I do the 3 tsp it says? I mixed it with distilled water and added 1 1/2 tsp

    Sorry for the newbie questions

See your potting soil alone likely had enough in it to feed your plants what it needed for likely the 1st 3 months of life. Then if you are feeding at a young age things may have built up in the soil causing a bit too much of any variety of things. I ignorantly used miracle grow perlite with time release stuff in it, and feeding just straight water I managed ti give 4 white widows some nice nitrogen toxicity followed likely with a bit of manganese deficiency...... pain in the butt when you have 4 topped, fimed, lst'd shrubs under a screen of green to have to flush lol.

In the middle of my 4x4 I have 2 x 3 gal waste bins, one has 3 clones of white widow that will be grown basically sea of green method, and in the other I have 2 females, seedlings, unknown as ordered as a "random indoor variety pack" but right from seedling I have had them on the 12/12 cycle to force flower right from birth. Imo one is indica dominant the other sativa dominant. Sorry for all the blabbing just like sharing info/progress when possible =)

The seedlings are truly blowing my mind, they were hatched on the 23rd of last month and being regular seeds not feminized I am so happy to see pistils already proudly displayed on these two girls, they are looking good for being like just over a week old.

  10. Looks good. Have fan, and good ventilation? I have never grown small space like that, I would keep mold in mind if she bushes right up and starts becoming one with the walls around her?

  11. Yeah good ventilation ...
    Thanks for your help

  12. Im New to GC forums, not new to growing
Imo the darker brown tips are likely from nutes. Your be surprised at not only the resilience of some strains, but also the sensitivity, im currently growing 1 kera seeds Venice beach Afghan and 2 white fire ogs. After transplanting to 5 gal buckets from red cups, I mixed an EIGHTH of a TSP of superthrive to a gallon of plain water, ended up losing one of the first leaves on the Venice beach and burning some others decently, but the white fire ogs (specifically the indica dom) showed only minor yellow/Brown tips. Just be careful and dont start the nutes until they tell you!

Correct intake on bottom can be passive ie: no intake fan required, out take at top. Lol I also was unsure on fan wiring and such from a computer.

  15. Small osculating fans set to not osculate should work correct

  16. I would think you should be good, and be able to make it work.

  17. Working in the box now ... I have my medical card for pain so one plant is plenty ...

  18. Using no intake fan on the bottom just output figured such a small box it would work ok the output would suck in the input enough

  19. That's perfect, if you have a small thermometer just to be safe and be able to check temps then I think you are set, happy growing!

  20. Yup its just sitting in the box, I wanna clone before I flower , from what I hear train wreck is a good strain
