I am in the research phase of starting my first garden (seeds are in standby.) I've had good luck growing okra and tomatoes in a mixture of organic potting soil and mushroom compost, however, I keep reading mixed messages on using it. Also, I've read a lot about people growing vegetables in reusable shopping bags, as they have a similar concept to "smart pots" for a fraction of the price. I wonder, has anyone else done this, and should I start in a smaller container and transplant? Thank you in advance for any advice you can give this newbie ðŸ Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum

Mostly that mushroom compost isn't a stable environment for MaryJane. I think I'll try one or two in the reusable bags, and see how that goes. We got the Blue Buddha strain, which isn't an auto flower. I'm also going to use some bag seeds, since I won't be as sad if they don't pull through. We've decided to grow indoors (the deer have eaten my entire tomato crop this year) in a grow tent. I'm hoping that will reduce the pest. ðŸCajunZombieKillerðŸ
