    Hi,

As the topic describes it, for years I have been taking pot to alleviate some symptoms of my illness ( I suffer from an orphan disease requiring the full scope of MJ effects : THC for spasms and tensions, CBD for inflamatory etc effects ).

I mainly medicate with pills ( 5 gr weed for 40 pills or 5 gr hash for 60 pills, and I take between 4 and 6 pills ) or once in a while with a vaporizer ( mainly weed but the effect is not strong enough ) .

After taking all that MJ for years, when I take the pills, I still feel the medical relief ( less pains and spams ) but the euphoric/body lifting effect seems to be part of the past.
As a comparison, a friend of mine took the same pills posology : he thought he was dead for approx 8 hours ( while I'm fully active and able to think/work ... I just avoid driving ).

I would really like to find a way to medicate once per week ( like the week-end ) to the level and get back the full physical/mental overwhelming euphoria.

Of course, I know that I just have to stop taking pot for a while for most of the effect to be back ( minimum 1 week max 3 months ),  but the "issue" is that my illness wont have a break for that time, and the official medecine I could take to compensate the lack of pot, it has to be taken progressively until you reach the right dosage ( and reduced progressively too .... yes, the official medecine is very dangerous and addictive : baclofen ).

From long term heavy medical users, I would like to know of there are solutions ?
Of course, I could try to vaporize hash directly or start using extracts but is it possible to have again a strong mental effect ?

Could extracts and/or dabbing bring that level steadily once per week ? ( without screwing my tolerance for the week days )

In the best world, I would just like to have the normal "medical" effects during the week, and still be able to rock my ass off during the week-end.

    Cheers
    DA

  2. can't keep your pie and eat it too. if you can ween off some and use less and still maintain your condition that will work. start using less and try and get to a new balance where you need less. if you go full strength on the weekends your tolerance will take a while to recoup during the week so don't expect to feel much after that.

  3. I agree with Galaxy420. Basically, it's a trade off. In my experience, for an established user, even a long T break only means a few months, at most, of that euphoric high. You might get more buzzed by regularly switching strains when smoking or vaping.

  4. Thanks for the tips.

I start considering creating a pool of 8 strains that I know work fine for me, and switch every 3 days.

    @[member="Gemstoner"] : what do you call a "long T break" ? weeks ? months ?

switching strains is a guarantee to keep it new and fresh to you each time. working on your tolerance and keeping the amounts you use at the minimum while maintaining the desired effects for relief of your condition is the target to shoot for as well. I've been noticing my few jars lasting longer and longer which is so nice as I bring tolerance down more and more.

  6.
    Six weeks.

  7. You've just got a mighty tolerance. The only thing that can give you the same effects as a low tolerance user now would be to increase the dosage dramatically until you start feeling the recreational effects again, or to try to switch up the strain as much as you can. For example I grow my own weed, and a lot of the times it's just only 1 strain at a time, so after a month or two of smoking the same strain I get tired of it, then I usually blast my trim from my older grows and then dab the hash oil I get from that. Switching the delivery method and the strain helps a lot with tolerance even in heavy users. That said though, you're really going to just have to increase the amount you consume if you really want to feel the effects. Tolerance sucks I smoke at least an eighth oz a day and I don't get THAT stoned. The only positive I find about having a tolerance is I'm able to comfortably enjoy cannabis any time and really appreciate the differences between varieties. If I smoke a bowl I'll feel it but I won't be intoxicated to the point where I can't function, for example.

  8. I had trouble getting past buzzed so I took 3 weeks off and for 4 months I got high as fuck.. I smoke multiple times a day but after 4-5 months I need to take another week off :) Try dabbing if you don't want to take a break.

  9. I read through more of your post and I see that you can't take a break due to your illness.. Like i said above you should look into concentrates because they can be up to 90+% which is about 4 times as potent as bud can be. You can vape concentrates, if interested and I can send a link to one of those big vapes that is used for concentrates, and you can control the temp.

    Best of luck!

  10. If you have access to quality concentrates that will be your best bet. I would recommend getting something like a Gpen or Cloud Pen. Those are made for wax(Bho). Try that and see if it works. My guess is it will work for a little bit. Once that stops working or if it doesn't work then try dabbing. That will do the trick guaranteed

If you don't have quality BHO available then try making double the amount of pills and start double dosing.

Take omega 3 supplements. I haven't had a tbreak in 4 years and thats multiple times a day usage. It still takes .2 in my vape to give me a fairly intense 2hr high, same as it did 2 years ago when i switched from smoke to vapor.

Also if your vape left you feeling unpleased, try a new one. Vaping will deliver more thc into your body than smoking so long as its an efficient, quality built vape.

  13. Concentrates all the way. I highly recommend POP Naturals. Cowboy Extracts is pretty good, too. I haven't tried the "clear" yet but I hear I makes you feel drunk.

  14. Vaporizers for concentrates are stupid. Why put a dab in a vape, when you can put a dab in a rig (which is still vapor!) and get 2-3 times higher.
I suggest dabs for you OP, I promise you won't regret it.

  15. Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one. I would recommend the pen over a strait dab for someone who doesn't dab and is concerned about building up a high tolerance. Other then that you are 100% correct.

  16. I had this same tolerance problem a couple years back. Combine edibles with some good dabs, and you'll get faded every weekend. Also switch up your strains throughout the day ( one for morning, and one for evening) and change those strains about every 5-7 days, you're good to go. A good clear shatter has NEVER failed to do the trick for me :)

  17. The only thing that can give you the same effects as a low tolerance user now would be to increase the dosage dramatically until you start feeling the recreational effects again,

The Clear Concentrates aren't the best, in my opinion, because they make you sleepy afterwards, but dabs can def work, seeing as you only vape so often. It's just a totally different experience than the pills you usually take.

Also, maybe switching up some of the oils used in the pills could help? Might have a different metabolization process, that effects you differently? I have a friend with a very similar problem. The first and easiest solution was to switch up the strains (terpenes are what are really affecting you anyway) the second and harder is the different oils. She's used to coconut oil, but her body may not process it very well, so I've suggested other things. Hasn't happened yet.

Another way that is SURE to mess you up, suppository use. That crap rocked my world. Within fifteen minutes of indica i was OUT. After an hour on a VERY light sativa -that would have done nothing for me orally (like 5mgs when Im used to 25 for the same effect), my friend came over and said she had never seen me so out of it before (giddy and spacy, cuz I was BUZZED) Yeah, suppository, that's the best way. You already make the caps, so why not.

Make some that are much lighter dosages (why rush a good new thing with overmedicating off the bat?) You can also add other essential oils in, if you want, I would cap in a 0, then freeze, uncap and insert into the middle of a 00 that has unmedicated oil, cap, freeze, uncap, then insert. ;)
