Been working hard. Almost there. So far I have this 4' x 2' closet that I'm converting into an indoor grow space. I used mylar on the walls and floor. Two lamps are attached to the back and front walls, and I fashioned four bulbs onto a 6 plug power strip and used some cable to hang from the closet top. I'm using a total of (6) 100w CFL bulbs at 5000k and something in the 1600 lumens per bulb. I'm using Miracle Gro soil and fertilizer despite warnings from many. I will take caution. Further detailing when I start germination. And strains to be announced when the journal officially begins. I'll sell my inventions so everyone can be a hero, everyone can be super. I've been worried about my lighting situation. Whenever some appliances turn on, I notice the lights in the room dim briefly. Is there too much stress on the circuitry? Before I hire an electrician or blow the lights out, I'd like your guys' inputs. That is if anyone's reading. My question is whether or not I should be worried about plugging in 6 lights. To be specific, I will have an extension cord running the lamps and the power strip light to the light timer. The dehumidifier, the timer itself, and fan will also be plugged into an extension cord. Let me know if I'm doing something horribly wrong here. P.s. There's a chunky old minifridge I'm removing to try and lower the overall room wattage. I know how you feel, I have one (1) person I can talk to about my grow, having a journal here and being able to read other people's journals help. The grow I have going on now is my first serious attempt at growing in years, so I tend to lurk and (try to) learn as I go. Folks like me may not post much but we are out there..... watching....
The 3 White Widow seeds germinated so they have been planted. The lights are now on and staying on. 24 hour light period from here on out. Hoping the Cheese seed germs but I don't care much. Looks like a good setup, man! Hard to tell from the last pic, but try to get those CFLs as close as you can (2 - 4 inches away from the tops). Also, swap out those plates for either some cheap, plastic runoff catchers (Home Depot, Lowes, Wal Mart, etc.) or even do what I did for three plants - buy a wide, plastic tub and put all three pots in the one tub. You're gonna be watering to about 20% runoff each time, so you're gonna need a bit more depth to work with as opposed to those small plates. Those White Widows are fun to watch grow! I plan on doing some WWs in the near future.

There's some great success that can be done from the beginning using those CFL's. I'm nearing the end of veg on my grow (in sig) and I used all CFL's from seedling and my 4 plants are thriving. I'm putting them under 1000w HPS in flower, but I wanted to see how well I could grow some plants under CFL's
As of right now I'm planning to do the entire grow with CFLs. I'll be considering switching to an HPS output but we'll see in the future. I'll sell my inventions so everyone can be a hero, everyone can be super. And when everyone's super.. No one will be.
Got the lights closer, around 2-4 inches from the top. Look good? Should I have my dehumidifier on from this point or can I wait until they sprout and have started to grow out of the pot?
