Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by KaideWB17, Jun 25, 2014.

  1. This is currently day 3 of a 36 day t Break i am currently taking and i just dont feel the need to eat as much any more.

Im a pretty big lad at 196 lbs but i seem to not want to eat and when i do i take a couple mouth fulls and i feel full. I know this is probaly the fact that ive stopped smoking and its a slight after effect but i never knew it would effect me this way.

Literally 15 mins b4 this post was made i cooked myself a meal as i felt a bit peckish (only time ive eaten today) and i took 3 - 4 mouth fulls and i was full!

Has this ever happened to any of you?

Whenever I stop smoking that always happens to me as well. Usually after a week or two your appetite goes back to normal and you will start being hungry again like normal. Ever since I became an everyday/multiple times a day smoker I've noticed my appetite get affected. Like you it's really hard for me to eat unless I smoke. Hell I don't even need smoke enough to get high for me to get my appetite back, usually a puff or two and I can eat.

I'd say just try and make yourself eat if you can until you start to get your appetite back. I also noticed last time I quit that if I went for a run or worked out it increased my appetite quite a bit/made it go back to normal. I would usually go for a run an hour or so before I normally eat so that way when I finished it was dinner time.

  4. Yeah that's the part I hate about being a daily smoker to be honest, lost my appetite even some weight !

    I didn't found a solution man...lol

  5. Same here, try fruits man.

To answer your question OP I do believe that it is an after effect, simply bc cannabis does play a role in your hypothalamus where appetite is controlled (I think?) that's why we get the munchies, think it keeps your stomach from telling the brain it's full.
So if you're a constant smoker I assume your body becomes accustom to only being fed when it's during these moments of insobriety where your a hungry hungry hippo. So afterwards, it just waits to be "told" to eat again.

This is all just speculation besides the fact about the hypothalamus.

    Hope I helped!
If anything, try small things like eating grapes or orange slices, keep away from nicotine and keep from junk food too until you believe your at your usual pace of eating .
